    I like when I head off to work having accepted the fact that we're going to lose a game, and then catching a glimpse of the bottomline on ESPN at work and having it say "Rangers - 5 Red Sox - 6 F"

    I would if I could... when it was on ESPN, and especially when every Avs game was available for me to watch, I loved hockey. I cared about hockey more than I cared about football in some ways. The day I realized I was bored playing hockey is the day I quit with hockey -- watching and playing. It's kind of weird, looking back -- best days/nights of my life were spent playing huge pickup inline games at the park with about 10-15 friends everynight. That said, I don't care about jumping on bandwagons... I wish more people would realize how great of a sport it is... but even though I don't care about the Avs the way I do the Nuggets, Sox, Broncos, or UConn basketball... nobody says f*** the Avs. Avs fans are some of the best fans in sports.

    And on the back of another great performance by Theodore, the Avalanche are into the second round. Having a hot hand in the net come playoff time can take a team a long way, hopefully Theodore can stay hot.

    Ahhh, okay... that's cool. They were a lot of fun to watch before the salary cap, that's for sure. I was just curious is all... on a Red Sox fan board, I'd have expected to be the only one to cheer for the Avalanche (or the Rockies, for that matter -- but I got Youk to back me there) -- though I don't really watch hockey.

    Out of curiosity, Kilo, why do you cheer for the Avs? I haven't gotten to watch them in the playoffs yet. Makes me wish I still lived in Colorado sometimes -- or atleast got Versus. Watched my first playoff hockey in a good two or three years today -- Flyers vs. Capitals -- and I forgot how great playoff hockey is.

    Good point. On that note, I was thinking the same thing when Brandon Rush went for the layup when he got behind the defense and the shot got blocked... and then again when he got the board and put it back up. It worked out for him a little better than for Rush than for CDR, though. I don't remember the score or time at that point but I remember thinking running off 30 seconds would've been just as good as scoring a quick two. edit: Speaking of mental mistakes... how about that silly foul Dorsey committed that took him out of the game? On another note, classy by Memphis to not foul and extend the game with meaningless fouls and freethrows since the game was all but over at that point. Nothing better than the NCAA tournament. Nothing.
