  1. Thanks, SFOC... I really appreciate the inclusion. Now randomly generate me some good numbers this year.
  2. They need to fill up two weeks worth of hype somehow and this is usually how they do it... make non-stories into stories. :dunno: He'll be fine... the only concern I'd have is one of those Giants going low because they will get to Brady.
  3. I disagree that they're far better. The Colts damn near beat them without their hall of fame Wide Reciever -- in fact, if they didn't get a bit conservative offensively (in my opinion) they might've beaten them. Colts defense was best, or close to, in the league in total scoring and they came out of the best division in football. The Patriots defense isn't near as good as their numbers indicate, and were made to look better by the fact that teams had to get one dimensional and ditch the run once the Pats' leads grew.
  4. Manning "struggled". Fascinating... let's take a look... He threw 31 TD's, 14 INT's, and 4,040 yards. Interesting how Manning struggling is still better than Brady's 2002-06 averages, eh? Those are as follows... 25.8 TD 13.2 INT's 3743 YDS And I'd remind you of two games in the playoffs in which Brady threw game ending INT's. On one of which he was saved by a Chargers fumble, and then drove for the win but typically you don't get two chances.
  5. I say the defense was worse but that Colts team still destroyed some teams. 41-9 over Detroit on Thanksgiving where they shut it down after three quarters, 41-10 over Oakland, where they again shut it down early. 49-14 over Houston, 35-14 over Houston... none of these games did Peyton Manning throw a fourth quarter TD. Not to mention Peyton played only a single series in the season finale against Denver, Tom Brady played the entire game. The defense argument also was more or less made against the fact that Tom Brady has more wins this year than Manning did in 2004. Not Manning's fault. However, couldn't Manning's 2 extra INT's be because he made more high-pressure throws? You don't really have to force the ball when you're beating the Redskins by five TD's -- not so much the case when you're tied in the fourth quarter. Since when are garbage time TD's as impressive as close game TV's? Interesting that you should ask which rates are more preferable because QB rating takes just those into affect. And Manning's 2004 rating was higher than Brady's this year. Given the 81 or whatever more attempts, he'd have shattered Brady's numbers. I'd like to remind everyone that I'm on record as saying they're equally impressive, and I'd agree a difference is negligible. And since I brought up the fact that Peyton Manning sat out week 17 against the Broncos... I'd like to remind everyone how Peyton Manning tends to do against my Broncos. He threw four TD's against them two weeks later. I'd also remind everyone of how large a role Peyton Manning plays in playcalling.
  6. Your using team success as a measure of individual accomplishment. Both players play less than half of any one game, even if they do take every snap. Additionally, there's 21 other starters on each team. The Colts defense was 29th best in the League in terms of yardage. And again, there's a difference between getting your guys reps and running up the score... the Colts were never accused of doing the latter because they never did the latter. The Patriots, on the other hand, did... I gave you two examples.
  7. They're equally impressive... but Peyton had 1 less TD in, like, 81 less passing attempts. And the Colts were never accused of running the score up like the Patriots. Don't forget their first game against the Dolphins where Brady was pulled from the game with, like a 42-14 lead and Matt Cassel threw an INT... they then put Brady back in and he threw for another TD. And the time they threw for a first down on fourth and, like, four with a, like, 5 TD lead.
  8. Ballgame. Jaguars win. Garrard with a 30+ yard run on 4th and 2 sets up a chip shot for Scobee. Glad the Jags won it.
  9. Pittsburgh can go ahead and thank the refs on that Pass Interference call... that should've been on Hines Ward. Would've been smart if Brian Williams just took a dive and gone to the ground... they might've gotten the call if he had.
  10. No. The Suns have beat San Antonio in San Antonio, almost beat Dallas in Dallas, they've beaten Orlando twice, and everybody knows what they bring to the table and have brought to the table for a few years now. And didn't they play without Amare for a little bit? Pistons destroyed Orlando and at least beat the Celtics. :dunno: Best team the Celtics have beat is either Denver or Orlando. I don't think either team is particularly great, though both could potentially make some noise. And we know the Spurs are great. We know Dallas is great. We know Phoenix is great. We also know that they are playoff tested and know that the regular season isn't all important. I'm not saying they're not one of the five or so best teams in the League... but earlier this year this team was being compared to Jordan's Bull's teams and the words "best ever" were being thrown around by ESPN. They're not that. They're not the best in the League and until they prove, against SA, DAL, or PHO that they are on that level... they're not.
  11. I think it's more than fair to say that until you beat one of the elite teams, which in the NBA, is the same teams every year, you're not "one of them". Who'd they play on that West Coast swing? Sacramento, Seattle, Utah, and the Lakers. Sacramento and Seattle are terrible, Utah's a .500 basketball team and the Lakers aren't an elite team, though 19-11 is a pretty good mark. That road trip proved very little. I will say this, however, I do love that NBA on ESPN commercial featuring the big three and Jeff Van Gundy.
  12. I missed the Florida/Michigan game, unfortunately... I really wanted to see that one. I was in Orlando on Church St. for New Years eve and spent the rest of New Years day driving back and recovering -- but there were a ton of Michigan and, obviously, Florida fans all over the place. Totally worth it, though... the girls dancing/selling drinks in the bar we went to were dressed in either Michigan or Florida stuff... all of a sudden I'm a Wolverines fan. :dunno:
  13. My team got embarassed.
  14. It depends on whether or not SD beats Denver and Baltimore, I believe. Then they'd both have had four common opponents.
  15. Don't even get me started on that f***ing show. Of all secrets in the world that a person could possibly keep, that sure as hell isn't one of them.
  16. Definetely was Alfie. How that show's not on in syndication I'll never know... easily one of the best. I remember an episode where Kendall Gill was going to sign autographs at the arcade... and whenever they said his name, they'd say it with their little black southern accent and his name, which is usually pronounced how it looks, ended up sounding like Kend-al Geel. Me and my buddy still call him, and anyone else who's last name is Gill, that to this day. Man... back in those days, me and my buddies sure were some... http://alloftv.net/img/shows/wildandcrazykids.jpg edit: Funny f***ing video, SoTK. Good stuff. Did anyone else get pissed off when, on Legends of the Hidden Temple, the idiot kids couldn't put together the monkey which consisted of three different pieces? How f***ing difficult could it be?!
  17. We'll see what they're made of coming up here soon. You can't deny that they haven't played anybody... there's some teams coming up that'll be the true test.
  18. Chargers are rolling. They played real soft in the beginning of the season... doesn't seem to be the case anymore. LT and Turner could give the Pats some trouble but the secondary and WR's are a real question mark. By the way... from a half yard out for the win... how does Billick not go for the Touchdown?! What a s***** coach he is.
  19. Forgot about the Rays... strange too because that one's been about two years coming.
