I'll say this...
Anybody who wants an asterisk by what Barry Bonds has accomplished and doesn't think the Patriots deserve an asterisk is a hypocrite -- especially since the Patroits have been caught cheating. Personally, I don't think either should get an asterisk... and I think people should stop talking about asterisking s***.
Exactly... it was like a f***ing prevent defense in a tie game with two minutes left. When you call plays like you're scared, you get beat.
As for the offense... what's up with throwing five to seven yard routes and making your WR's work to get the first? Throw the ball down field. Any situation like that where you end a game with a timeout in your pocket, it's nothing more than terrible coaching.
And don't forget that terrible special teams play.
I love those yellow uniforms. Looked great, I thought.
If you can get past WVU's blindingly bright yellow uniforms, I suggest turning to ESPN and watching the remainder of this great game between WVU and Louisville play out... tied at 31... you should especially be interested if you're cheering for UConn in the Big East!
West Virginia is self-destructing with turnovers and penalties.
edit: Pat White is gooood. 50 yard TD run for the WVU QB.
I think AI and Melo make it work together but outside of them, it just seems like a mish-mash of some pretty talented players and George Karl is a bad coach, imo. I haven't see the dedication to run under George Karl yet. They run, but then they lose focus for a bit and let the other team back in. They really shouldn't get destroyed like they did against the Celtics, so that was a very impressive win for the C's.
This wasn't your typical upset where a team let's an inferior team hang around, the falls victim to some sort of miracle finish...
This was the type of upset where Kentucky never got within 7 points of Gardner-Webb. f***ing awesome, I say.
Kentucky got routed by Gardner-Webb tonight... I wonder if there's a little buyers remorse with the Gillespie hire...
GIARSF sure must be proud of his Wildcats!
It's meaningless because it's a popularity contest. Any award that rewards great defense this season that isn't given out to Tulowitzki or Crisp for their respective positions is meaningless because it's a fan vote, I believe. Tulo was far and away the best defensive short stop in the league... any numbers you can drudge up show this... yet, he plays in Colorado and nobody knew his name until the last month of the season.
The Steelers started four drives inside the Ravens 30, I think. That's four times where points are nearly guarenteed. I agree with Ray Lewis -- that defense can win you a lot of games if you're smart with the football on offense. Billick is lucky there hasn't already been a much bigger divide between the offense and the defense already with how good the defense has been and how terrible the offense has been.
I missed it... but if he went on a rant about how terrible the offense is... it's been a long time coming. They've had a defense good enough to collect Super Bowl trophy's since Lewis has been there and the one year they had an offense that, at the very most, didn't f*** up, they won the whole damn thing.
By the way, how does Brian Billick still have a job? For an "offensive genius", he hasn't even had a somewhat-capable offense since he's been there. I remember that year they won the Super Bowl they went three or four straight games without an offensive TD.
Yeah... Troy Tulowitzki.
I love Coco's defense... but they say the difference between Tulo and the second best shortstop was greater than the difference between the second and the ninth best shortstops.
Just think if Minnesota knew how to use him! There's two or three games of theres this year where you could say "They'd have won if they ran Adrian Peterson more..."
About four weeks ago I had Michael Crabtree as my runaway Heisman Winner... by far. But the last four weeks he hasn't done too much... so I'd have to go Dennis Dixon.
But more about Crabtree... through 6 games the guy had 70 receptions and 17 TD's and well over 1,000 yards I believe. I don't care what kind of "gimmick offense" you play in, those are unreal numbers. Since then, though... 1 TD.
I'm hoping so, like I said, Marion was ranked tops on a lot of sites and I stole him in this draft. He helps with points, rebounds, and blocks.
I have Jason Terry, Andre Miller, David West, Gerald Wallace, and Lamar Odom as well. Good team, I think.
Yeah, the altitude's a huge advantage when the team chooses to use it. And they have a team that can do it... AI loves to get out and run the break. Andre Miller, as much as I loved him, always seemed more comfortable when he slowed the ball down, and he did that a little too often. Seattle was able to keep it close but eventually Denver just ran 'em out of the building. Can't wait until they get JR Smith back, but I'm sure going to miss watching my Nuggets this year.
This is my first year doing fantasy basketball too... I think I have a team that should be able to win it all. The draft was done via message board so nobody had player rankings readily available and I was able to snag Shawn Marion in the third round... pretty much every site I look at has him as a top three fantasy player.
My starting lineup is...
Deron Williams
Tracy McGrady
Shawn Marion
Chris Bosh
Amare Stoudemire
If they stay healthy it'll be a lethal lineup, I'm thinking.
