  1. I don't understand what you mean by that. I don't understand the relegation aspect, in terms of what different leagues there are to be relegated and promoted throughout, and what is the difference between the Champions League and the premiere league? What is the big championship?
  2. I think I liked their jerseys. That's what it was, I think. Red with white sleeves... classy look. I'm pretty good with the rules, I watch the World Cup and the premiere league when they show it on ESPN every once in a while. It's just the players I don't know well, and the league structure I don't have a damn clue of.
  3. Welcome aboard officially, Liverpool fans. Very excited about this deal, and that I finally have a team to cheer for, rather than just siding with Arsenal for no real reason. Very much hope that you can teach me a little bit about the game you love, and we can return the favor with the game we love.
  4. I read an article in USA Today that contested that the NFL would be a safer league for the players if they wore less padding, specifically helmets, like Rugby players. Granted, you can't go from how it is now to all of a sudden less padding and such as it would take years for guys to be able to change the way they play, but I do think it's an interesting point.
  5. We've got idiots too. In fact, I'd bet we've got more of 'em.
  6. Ahhh, that is good to know. By the way, the entire crowd singing it is awesome.
  7. Yeah, I was aware of the club's usage of it. I knew it's in their crest and I knew the phrase is used by the fans, had just never thought to listen to it before.
  8. I barely worry about my own money, sometimes. Damn sure not going to worry about some billionaire's money. :D I've been looking for a Premiere League team to cheer for. I kind of took to Arsenal for reasons I'm not sure of, but I think that whether or not the deal goes through, I'm a Liverpool fan. The song sold me.
  9. Welcome to the boards, Liverpool fans. Admittedly I haven't, at all, kept up with this situation and I don't have the time or energy to read through a 33 page thread, so would somebody please catch me up with what's going on? Flag burning? edit: And also, just listened to that "You'll Never Walk Alone" song for the first time. I f***ing love it!
  10. What an ass kicking so far. Oregon has cut into Stanford's lead, now trailing 28-24.
  11. Did anyone just watch LSU/Tennessee? Most ridiculous ending I've ever seen to a game.
  12. I'm watching Air Force-Navy for obvious reasons. Loving the helmets Air Force is wearing today. Navy, down 8, will get the ball back with about 1:09 left from the 50 or so. Since they're a run-dominated offense, it should be interesting to see if they can cover that much ground in that time.
  13. Yep, very bad call.
  14. Yep, Nuggets fan -- from Colorado, actually. And the Nuggets refusal to build through the draft is a discussion I have often when it comes to the Nuggets, so I've pretty much got that one down pretty well. And I'd add to the draft thing that they'd have screwed the pooch in 2003 had they had the second pick because Kiki Vandeweigh had a thing for foreign players (Skita, anybody? Ugh...) and wanted Darco Milicic.
  15. Last year in the second round, but they traded his rights away for cash from Houston. Before that? 2006. They took Leon Powe in the second round and traded away his rights for a future second round pick. The last guy they actually took that played for them was Julius Hodge in 2005 (a great pick ) and before that, Melo in 2003. That's not to say they haven't used their picks, they traded a first rounder for Ty Lawson.
  16. You don't like it from the Nuggets perspective? I like it quite a bit, actually, if they use those draft picks wisely... then again, it's the Nuggets we're talking about it. They'll probably trade them straight up for either second round picks or future first round picks, which they will eventually trade for future first round picks, which they will eventually trade for future first round picks, which... you get the idea. I love Favors' upside, but he'll either be a force in this league or he'll be Tyrus Thomas.
  17. Consider me on board with the idea of trading Melo for Derrick Favors, AK-47, and two first round picks. I would like the deal even more if I didn't know that the Nuggets will eventually waste or blow those first round picks since they seem to greatly dislike the NBA draft for some reason or another. Here's a question... how does the top 7 protected draft pick work? Does that mean if it's in the top 7 the original team (Warriors) keep the pick?
  18. Me too. How could I forget about that? The umpire put it in his locker, and Jason Grimsley snuck into the lockerroom through a vent or some crap in the ceiling and replaced the corked bat with an uncorked bat.
