  1. West Virginia is your National Champions. Ain't nobody stopping that offense... South Florida needed six turnovers and Patrick White leaving the game to do it.
  2. Very unfortunate. He was a guy I enjoyed watching when he played in Colorado -- though, more-so during his first stint with the team. Sad, very sad. 28 years old is way too young.
  3. ... Huh?!
  4. Arizona State is getting manhandled in the desert. USC's putting it to 'em; 44-17 right now. Herring ain't seen more than a crack to run through and they've been completely unable to protect Carpenter, who's actually a pretty tough kid. Down goes one of the more overrated teams, and coaches, in the country. Though I do tend to cheer for them, if only for Keegan Herring.
  5. :( My favorite Rockie... gone.

    08 Draft

I was wrong but everybody gets lucky some times. Who figured that upon losing Norv Turner they'd become completely inept at playcalling?
  7. How much value does he have at this point? Aside from being a big contract, I don't see any reason anybody would want the guy -- he's a shooting guard playing point guard and I'm sure he'd refuse to play the 2-guard, he might be too small to, anyway. Not to mention he's lost everywhere he's been and he brings with him some baggage -- but he is a big contract and 2009 is supposed to be a great free agent class, so somebody will be willing to take him -- especially with the possibility that Kobe may be available in 2009 if he opts out.
  8. Same reason he would've vetoed a trade to Chicago. Same reason he'll veto a trade ANYWHERE. If a team is going to give LA enough to make trading Kobe even sort of worth it, it's going to cost them too much for that team to be a contender immediately. I think Kobe's going to be a Laker until he possibly opts out in 2009. edit: Wait a minute... what the f*** are you thinking, Kobe? This would've made the Pistons probably the best team in the East, in my opinion. If not the best, pretty damn close.
  9. I want A-Rod.
  10. They're certainly in the National Title game if they win out. I'm just saying they're not one of the better teams in the country. They haven't beaten anyone. They could prove me wrong... but I don't think they will. Winner of the Big XII, assuming they win out, will play for the National Championship.
  11. Should we expect to see Les Miles' house go on the market soon or will he turn down the Michigan job and stay at LSU? Oh, and looking at Kansas' schedule... there's really not a single win on it that impresses me. I expect them to get manhandled by Missouri -- I think it'll be their first game against a ranked team all year.
  12. The 49ers have some talent on offense, they need to take the training wheels off and open it up. Poor Alex Smith, the guy's never had the same offensive coordinator twice. No quarterback is going to be successful with that kind of inconsistency. Their offensive gameplan seems so... blah.
  13. No... f***ing... way...
  14. Colts are still probably going to win this f***ing game. Down 23-21 with the ball in the fourth.
  15. Hopefully that's the spark that gets 'em going this year. Down 25 at the half and coming back to win is real impressive... until you remember they were down by 25 to the Pacers at the half. Still a great win to get.
  16. Illinois just didn't make mistakes. Difficult to beat a team that doesn't do anything to beat themselves. Juice Williams is for real... a lot of room for improvement but he's going to be a real good player one day. I joked after the loss to App State, and then Oregon, that I should bet on Michigan to win the Big Ten because they were better than their play had indicated and I'd get incredible odds... well, they beat OSU and they win the Big Ten. I really wish I'd made that bet, now.
  17. Ballgame... Juice Williams carries the Fighting Illini to the win. Four times on the final drive he rushed for a first down on third or fourth down and he had, I believe, four passing TD's. And now there's a fight at midfield. LSU will be back up to #1.
  18. Ohio State and Illinois tied at 14 in the second. I think the Illini, led by Juice Williams, will pull off the upset. They came damn close last year and since then, Ohio State is worse, Illinois is better. edit: 21-14 Illini in the second half. Ohio State threatening. Wow... Interception. That was an incredible play by the Illinois defense.
  19. I'll echo the usual sentiment... kid's got some balls.
  20. This has been a very long time coming... they've talked about it for at least a year, probably two. They went from having one of the worst visual identities in the league to having... one of the worst visual identities in the League. It looks like the sun in the logo was just an after thought.
