  1. That is remarkable. Wrong A-Rod, Hawky.
  2. A-Rod's the tieing run at the plate in the ninth with no outs. Whoever's responsible for those empty seats I'm seeing should be ashamed of themselves. edit: Ballgame. Jays win.
  3. I was right there with ya, though I've rooted for them since '93. Postseason was a lot of fun for Rockies fans, I expect this season should be a lot of fun too.
  4. I still think he could have caught the ball... way too late for Alou to be coming clean about this if he really didn't think he'd have caught the ball... Bartman's life is already ruined because of it. Too bad, too, because anyone else might've done the same thing.
  5. Agreed.
  6. UConn's got so much length... San Diego's having to work for everything on offense -- I think San Diego can keep it close but they'll fatigue and fade out in the second half... uh oh, AJ Price is down. I'm no doctor but if I'm guessing I'd say he's done for a while. UConn's offense can be painful to watch sometimes.
  7. Holy s*** what a game! WKU wins on a 3 pointer with three guys in his face at the buzzer.
  8. Western Kentucky needs to learn the finer points of playing with a lead late. Dangerous passes, rushing shots... ugh. Tied with 24.6 seconds left... WKU should get the last shot and they better make it because if this goes to OT they lose by at least 8. And there goes one of the biggest ******** charge calls I've seen.
  9. These early games are looking good for me... I had Western Kentucky over Drake, Miami over St. Mary's, and Gonzaga over Davidson -- though Gonzaga got kind of screwed with their seeding. And if Tennessee loses to American, that would be incredible since I had them out in the second round to begin with, while it might just destroy other peoples brackets.
  10. Ugh... here I am stuck watching a 76-61 game... and then we'll be stuck with Stanford/Cornell until Mayo and Beasley face off at 7:10. What a disappointing day so far. When the highlight of the day is Xavier beating Georgia by 12, you know it hasn't lived up to the hype so far.
  11. If Kentucky could just hang onto the basketball or grab a defensive rebound or two they'd be doing very well... as it is, they can do neither and they trail by six.
  12. Started out 3 for 3 (then again, who didn't?), but this second wave of games is going to kill me. I have Pitt, who's rolling, but I also have #11 Kentucky, who's down 2, #11 Baylor who's down 16, and #9 Kent State, who managed to score 10 points in the first half. At the very least, I can be fortunate that I don't have any of these teams surviving the round of 32. Just hoping Kentucky can give me 2 of 4 for now. And great, now I have to worry about Jeff Adrien and the SI curse...
  13. They're hitting everything and I can remember about four or five times when Xavier's failed to grab a loose ball or rebound that they've gotten their hands on that went right to Georgia and led to points for the Bulldogs or could've been points for Xavier. This Gaines kid can play, which I say as he airballs a turnaround, fade-away in traffic. Down to 6... again. But everytime Xavier cuts into the lead, Georgia hits a big shot... edit: And Xavier leads 52-49. They turned up the D and got to the line on the other end.
  14. what the f*** has gotten into Georgia and why did I convince myself not to pick them? Come on, Xavier...
  15. Not Celtics related but I didn't feel like trying to find the NBA thread... Anyone see the score of the other nights Nuggets/Sonics game? Nuggets - 168 Sonics - 116... ... in regulation. 'Melo was the Nuggets high scorer with only 26 points.
  16. Huggins is at West Virginia this year. I'm taking Kansas to win it all. My one concern with them is that their style of play doesn't typically result in NCAA Tournament success.
  17. So long, Syracuse!
  18. I agree. That said, I'd be shocked if Randy Moss is a Patriot next year.
  19. Dallas is giving up a lot long term for the short term. I think it makes them as good as anyone immediately. Down the road they'll miss Harris. Dallas and Phoenix both took gambles... I think Dallas is the better team right now.
  20. Marions one of the best defenders in the League, though. I think Phoenix regressed a little bit... doesn't help that their acquisition is about to be one-upped by the Mavericks, who are about to get Kidd.
  21. Not sure I see how this makes the Suns better, to be honest. Bad trade for 'em, in my opinion. They were my pick, too.
  22. Am I the only one that thought they were almost painful to sit through this year? I have never once reached for the remote during the Super Bowl... not once. This year... I did... it happened during the commercial with the lizards dancing to thriller. They were awful this year... not one good one in the whole bunch.
