  1. Do you not understand that he wants to leave Boston because he wants more privacy? Why the hell would he go anywhere in NY?!
  2. No... but you don't see the difference between making such a gesture when you actually, as you said, "Close the door" on a team and when you've just blown a 2 run lead?
  3. Go all season without extras and then get 'em two games in a row (Against the D-Rays, of all teams)? That's fairly interesting
  4. I can take the losing, so long as the reign of John York as the 49ers owner soon comes to an end.
  5. But Tim Rattay really isn't a bad QB. 83.8 Career QB Rating, which isn't great, but it's not horrible. 61.3% completion. In the little time he played in 2003, he had 7.25 YPA... which is good. Besides, look at his WR's last year. Brandon Lloyd was the only real good one, and he even faced some double teams. I think the 49ers were capable of winning more games last year, personally. But Dennis Erickson is too god damn conservative of a coach.
  6. He could be the next Steve Young -- I'm a 49ers fan and I'm sure as hell hoping so. Personally, I wanted the 49ers to take Braylon Edwards -- he idolizes Jerry Rice and his work ethic -- it could've been a great situation for him to be in, stepping into the position his idol was once in (in terms of being a rookie WR on the 49ers). Plus, Brandon Lloyd, Rashaun Woods, and Braylon Edwards would have the potential of being a dynamite trio down the line. Sigh... my 49ers mess up again.
  7. I can't be too picky because I only get to watch the Sox when they're on National TV -- so I'm just thankful when they're on TV. And when they are on TV, Tex's Buffalo Wild Wings answer is a good one. Love that place.
  8. Defending. But defending is to compete against a challenger, or, in this case, challengers, to defend a Championship -- meaning the Championship is ours -- meaning we're the Champions -- meaning there's absolutely no difference between being the Champions and the defending Champions.
  9. http://www.talksox.com/forum/search.php?searchid=19938 Looking back at some of his posts... that would be pretty correct.
  10. There's a huge difference between honoring your past and living in it -- once Yankees fans quit trying to throw their successful past into every single conversation, maybe you'll understand that. Is it a coincidence that you're named 26-6? Or would that be you somehow thinking that the past is more important than the present? Regardless of how many you've won in the past -- we are the current World Champions until we're dethroned. Now, tell me, what's more important? The past? Or the Present?
  11. Well, some people have, for some insane reason, not been exposed to the genius that is Spaceballs. With that said... f***ing Devil Rays.
  12. It's from the movie Spaceballs.
  13. Ahhh, just wondering, because I live in Colorado. About 40 minutes from Denver.
  14. Agreed. To be honest, I don't think he did anything this last year that makes him more valuable than the year he signed the contract. He never has to catch another pass his entire life and if the money's spent even somewhat wisely, his grandchildren will die wealthy.
  15. If you don't mind me asking -- where at in CO?
  16. I've cheated on tests before -- sure. And no, I wouldn't want a scarlet C around my neck either. But at the same time, I didn't use that math tests, or whatever, that I cheated on to net me millions of dollars or to get a competetive edge against those that chose to go about their business purely through hard work and playing by the rules. Besides, though I understand your point and what you're trying to say, but I'd say having made a poor choice in 7th grade is different than doing something you know is wrong when you're an adult and you know that kids look up to you.
  17. Good point. I had never thought of that. Though, teams that are defense oriented usually build around, or atleast have, good goalies -- so I guess that works to their favor a little bit.
  18. Wow. That's the first time I've ever graced the YES Boards with my presence -- they certainly are idiots, over there.
  19. *ding* *ding* *ding* That would be correct! I also think a lot of them, but not all of them, are bandwagoners and don't know how to lose -- or don't know how to lose, so they hit the panic button when they do.
  20. Clint Barmes of the Rockies was hitting .329 with 8 HR and 34 RBI's in 54 games before he got hurt.
  21. 3-1 Yankees, now. That's fine, Kevin brown is on the mound -- the Angels will get those runs back.
  22. I agree that it's a part of hockey, and believe me, there's nothing like a good ole' hockey fight (Why do you think I used to love the rivalry my Avs had witht he Red Wings?) -- but they've enforced new rules to speed the game up, why not get rid of hockey? It's unnessecary. Everyone says no matter how little they like hockey, they enjoy watching playoff hockey. Well, there's not many fights in playoff hockey, is there? I feel the same way about shootouts -- but I'd take that over a tie, anyday. And it's not like you can have the guys play it out like in the playoffs.
  23. Though a point is still rewarded for an OT loss -- which sucks. A loss is a loss, in my opinion. Oh well, no more ties. I think they should do away with fighting, as well.
