  1. Greatest WR, and in my opinion, player, the NFL has ever seen with a work ethic that was among the best of any athlete in any sport, ever. It'll be sad to see him not play anymore, even if he wasn't as brilliant as he once was. As a 49ers fan, he's always been my favorite athlete.
  2. I've been trying to figure that one out since the game ended, last night. A one point lead is no different than a two point lead in that spot -- so they had nothing to lose. Just bad coaching by a usually solid coach.
  3. The three guys you mentioned -- Chacon, Wang, Small -- have pitched a combined 0 innings in the postseason in their careers. Chacon hasn't pitched in a "big game" in his life.
  4. But how does Wells ruin the image of the Yankees when two of the Yankees most recognizable figures EVER were the same way? You are the guys that didn't want him back... so don't boo him when he crosses over to the other side.
  5. I wouldn't keep Onterrio Smith. He's supposed to miss the entire season due to suspension
  6. You mean, any time ESPN says something negative about the Yankees, it's because of an anti-Yankees bias? Oh yes, because in the eyes of a Yankees fan, everyone is biased against the Yankees -- you'll see the umpires bias against the Yankees mentioned in every thread on a Yankees board. If the MLB and ESPN didn't care about ratings -- then yeah, it'd be a possibility that they'd show a bias against the largest market -- but they do. Now, with that aside, it's too early to pick an MVP. Last season, Vlad got it a lot because of what he did late in the season in carrying his team -- who knows if someone will do the same this year.
  7. 1. NFL 2. MLB 3. NCAA Football 4. NBA 5. NCAA Basketball 6. NHL 7. NCAA Hockey (DU, baby. Back to back National Champs) 8. NCAA Basketball However, due to the poor ownership of my favorite NFL team, the 49ers, the Red Sox are my favorite team.
  8. The walkoff HR in Game 4 of the ALCS. I'm not sure anything is in the same league as that. As he ran the bases, i thought to myself -- "Holy crap, they really could do this!"
  9. When Sosa triples his 4 month HR total in one month.. then yeah, it will be ok to accuse Sosa. But as it looks now, he's been awful and those would be some pretty crappy steroids you'd be accusing him of.
  10. Rather than criticize Terrell Owens for how he's handled his situation, I'm going to commend McNabb for how he as handled this situation which he's been pulled into, like some others have done. He never ceases to amaze me -- from the Rush Limbaugh situation to this one; he handles everything with class. He's quickly grown into one of my favorite players and I hope he wins a Super Bowl, so long as Terrell Owens is not on his team when it happens. Not only is he, as he's regarded, one of the NFL's funniest personalities -- he's one of the NFL's classiest as well.
  11. I think he was doing more than that to. People don't think these athletes are smart enough to know what's in something before they put it in, or on their body? Please. If that's the case, then they deserve the backlash of whatever they test positive for, or are found to have been taking, just for being stupid.
  12. Well, if steroids taken in cream form didn't help in some way or another... would they even bother making them?
  13. He struggled pretty badly against the Jets, too. Roethlisberger, in my opinion, is a bad example of what rookies can do. Roethlisberger wasn't put into as much of a high pressure situation as you'd think. He didn't have to make plays -- he was just expected to not make big mistakes. And Lebron, well, as it was said earlier, Lebron is just a freak. He's been handling the pressure since he's been a Sophomore in High School and played Nationally Televised games in High School.
  14. Yeah, he did get a good contract, $40 million over 4 years -- but St. Louis was offering him $36 million over 4 years. So it's not like he wouldn't have gotten a big contract elsewhere. There had to be other considerations.
  15. Actually, Manny Goes Boom, the Rogers Centre does have a Hotel inside of it with 70 rooms overlooking the field.
  16. If it's the park that makes the Sox so good... why do they have a better road record than the Yankees? Personally, I like when they talk of the conspiracy against the Yankees. Yes... the MLB has umps purposely screw the Yankees because they want their biggest market, and one of the most popular teams to miss the playoffs.
  17. I think USC takes it's 3rd straight National Title. I've read/heard that they're better than last year and the only issue is whether or not they get complacent.
  18. AFC East: Patriots Jets* Bills Dolphins North: Ravens Steelers* Bengals Browns South: Colts** Jaguars Texans Titans West: Broncos Chargers Raiders Chiefs NFC East: Eagles** Cowboys* Redskins Giants North: Vikings Lions Packers Bears South: Falcons Panthers* Buccaneers Saints West: Seahawks Cardinals Rams 49ers * Wildcard ** Homefield Advantage
  19. Well, firstly, Lee's transformation didn't come in midseason. He didn't suddenly go on a tear. And the difference between the player he is now and the player he was isn't nearly as large as the difference with Giambi. Secondly, his success can be attributed to correcting his weakness -- so pitchers can no longer target that. And Pujols? Was there any point in even bringing him up? He's just an amazing player. He didn't go from being a good player to a bad player because of steroids, and then suddenly begin to tear the league apart again.
  20. This year? Hmm... they're 5.5 back of the red hot Astros. I'm not sure if I'm willing to go out on that limb with you -- but I can see them taking it next year.
  21. No, I'm saying the Players Union would object to the MLB using that to suspend him or even make it public because it's not part of the testing policy. If that was the case, and they did find him using HGH through those tests... we would probably never know about it. Not for a while, anyway.
  22. But wouldn't the players union have something to say about that?
  23. Great story. It's a shame that stories like this get little air-time so long as there's an update on Terrell Owens, no matter how insignificant it is, that ESPN can spend a half hour talking about.
  24. I thought I remember having read once before that Giambi has always had some sort of an inferiority complex. I can't find anything online to back that up, but I thought I had heard it, somewhere. If it's the true, then it's entirely possible that he's dumb enough to take them again. :dunno:
  25. If he was dumb enough to do it in the first place, in my eyes, he's dumb enough to do it again.
