  1. I think the White Sox have to give Cleveland their all. If they go into postseason as losers of 3 straight after their god-awful second half of the season, they're pretty much done for. It's not always the best team that wins, it's the hottest... and the White Sox have been anything but hot. That said, I'd rather see Cleveland make the playoffs. But, as a Sox fan, I can honestly say that the Yankees and Guardians, in my opinion, are the two teams that deserve to get in. The Sox, postseason or not, have some changes they need to make in the offseason.
  2. People like this make me sick. How is he a 'traitor to his race' for dating white women? He's half white!!
  3. Atlanta vs Buffalo Cincinnati vs Chicago Jacksonville vs NY Jets Oakland vs Phildaelphia Tennesse vs St. Louis Carolina vs Miami Cleveland vs Indianapolis New Orleans vs Minnesota Tampa Bay vs Green Bay Dallas vs San Francisco Arizona vs Seattle New England vs Pittsburgh NY Giants vs San Diego Kansas City vs Denver My Pick Incorrect
  4. Eh, nevermind... it doesn't matter enough for me to explain what I meant. You're right... no team in the NFC can touch 'em come playoff time... but what's that really saying when the NFC is known to be the MUCH weaker conference?
  5. Clock error added 52 seconds to Steelers-Pats game From ESPN.
  6. Ok... so you no longer think it's amazing that they can score so easily with just two main options considering the other talent? They played a good defense... they got shut down. They've since played two mediocre defenses and have been great. I'm more prone to say that the one against the good defense on Monday Night Football is the indicator of how good their offense is.
  7. Philly is far from the best offensive team in the league. Their offense looked absolutely awful against the Falcons. The only good defensive team they've played. The other two teams they played are the 49ers and Raiders... the Raiders defense, especially on paper, is horrid. The 49ers defense isn't so bad, but you still can't claim greatness for putting up the numbers they did against them.
  8. Posting your suspicion on the internet is really keeping it to yourself. What's the difference between you suspecting him and us suspecting Giambi? You gave reasons why you suspect Tejada has done steroids, we've given reasons to suspect Giambi -- yet you deny that Gaimbi could be doing them. You, sir, are a hypocrite.
  9. Rocky, the Nuggets mascot, is in a very close second for mascots. I went to a preseason game where Ron Artest went up and blocked one of Rocky's attempts at a halfcourt shot... so Rocky spent the remainder of the game trying to get retaliation. Towards the end of the game, he was going to attempt an elbow drop from a table that Artest was leaning against (he was sitting on the court, not in a chair), and ended up slipping off of the table. I can't think of any other mascots where the referees wait until he/she is finished to resume play.
  10. I'll drink to that!
  11. Are you accusing Tejada? Before you say 'no'... the answer is 'yes, you are.' The way you've acted in the Giambi thread... I would think that you're above that.
  12. While I agree that it's not so bad that he's trying to expose another steroid user (which may or may not be the case), he's not doing it because it's the "right thing to do"... he's doing it to save himself. Pawning off responsibility is not an admirable quality -- certainly one that I won't instill in my kids, when that time comes. Raffy took whatever substance he took -- Raffy got caught taking said substance -- Raffy should take the responsibility, not point the finger at somebody else. Bringing other guys into this won't do much to help clear your name. It won't make you look any more attractive on the Hall of Fame ballot. So why throw other guys, who have probably supported you through all of this, under the bus?
  13. Atlanta vs Buffalo Cincinnati vs Chicago Jacksonville vs NY Jets Oakland vs Phildaelphia Tennesse vs St. Louis Carolina vs Miami Cleveland vs Indianapolis New Orleans vs Minnesota Tampa Bay vs Green Bay Dallas vs San Francisco Arizona vs Seattle New England vs Pittsburgh NY Giants vs San Diego Kansas City vs Denver
  14. Am I the only one who thinks the Heat got worse this off-season? I guess they'll be the next team to find out that fitting as many big names on your roster s possible is not the road to take towards success. They were a healthy Shaq away from the NBA Finals last year -- I have to question everything they've done this offseason.
  15. The question is... how did he get his strength back? I don't know why you don't understand this -- you can't put on muscle during a season. Any sport, at any competitive level, High School and up, have 'gameday workouts' -- There is absolutely no way you can put on muscle with said workouts and every day is a gameday.
  16. Interesting.. because this forum is for Red Sox fans...
  17. They're better in the long term for it. It's not as though they've been winning Super Bowls up there in Minnesota... they've been struggling to make the playoffs, every year. Williamson will turn into a stud and they'll shore up that defense some more. They'll fire Tice and get an actual coach who can run an offense not entirely based upon streak routes to Randy Moss. They can still win the division -- who else is all that great in the NFC North?
  18. Should that have been a safety to end the Notre Dame game? I pin that loss on Maurice Stovall... dumb penalties and costly drops. And now as I watch, Michigan State players plant a flag on Notre Dame's field. Hate to break it to you Michigan State... no matter where you plant your flag -- you're not Notre Dame and you will never be Notre Dame.
  19. Give me a player who takes his break while his teams in the field over a man that takes a break when he needs to get a big hit or there's runners in scoring position anyday.
  20. Would anyone arguing for A-Rod care to take a look at his stats with runners in scoring position? Particularly with 2 outs?
  21. Sammy Sosa said to test him right in the lockerroom. Of course Sheff calls for tougher testing -- wouldn't you if it'd help your lie? Especially with the protective blanket that is the players union -- he probably did it because he knows it won't happen. As for it being unintentional and Sheff blaming Bonds -- he's a professional f***ing athlete, and one in very good shape -- generally, they make sure they know what the f*** they put in or on their body. Christ.
  22. He tripled his season long HR total in the span of a month. That's a pretty rapid, and unprecedented, improvement.
  23. I've never said a player can't improve -- it's how rapid of an improvement he made that's the problem. When, in the history of sports, has somebody improved this much of this short of a period time. It's going from being lucky to still be in the league to playing like an MVP -- it doesn't happen overnight. In fact, it's unprecendented.
  24. No... that's saying we should turn a blind eye because we can't prove anything anyway -- if we're not supposed to ignore these facts, and how what he's done is awfully suspicious, what else is their to do but suggest that someone may be using them, especially when one's season has gone the way of Jason Giambi's? You don't go from possible Triple A player to MVP form in the matter of months let alone to do it in the span of one month as he did.
  25. So we should turn a blind eye towards players using HGH because we can't prove they're doing it? Doesn't give players much reason to play fair, does it?
