  1. Same here. We saw Wang struggle in his first big game... what do you expect from Chacon and Small?
  2. How many of those hits meant anything? Without the HR, you'd have won 7-4.
  3. I can drink to that. They deserve it. We'll have our days.
  4. So wait... dillusional fans caused the Red Sox to be outplayed by the Yankees? I bet you believed in the curse, too. Everybody saw us slipping -- you couldn't check the standings without seeing it. You call the people that posted the magic numbers idiots -- so what does that make you for thinking it somehow costed them the division?
  5. I actually wouldn't mind the wildcard. Personally, I'd rather be playing the White Sox than the Angels.
  6. Yes... they lost the East because somebody posted a number on a message board.
  7. I hate Fox. Between this s*** and McCarver and Buck... ugh. I'd rather get a root canal with a rusty nail than watch non-Red Sox baseball on Fox.
  8. Just a little bit of an update... Manny's HR just came back to earth.
  9. Out of curiosity... do you guys know if Damon thought Jeter had the ball? Or if he was just trying for an extra base? I figure he might've mentioned it in a press conference or something.
  10. it's ok... we still have a nice little cushion.
  11. i guess steroids don't help you throw well
  12. I thought that 2-1 pitch was good... guess not according to K zone
  13. Definetely. Pick your poison.
  14. make 'em pay for it, Manny. Get this one fair!
  15. MVP! MVP! MVP! Tied game, gentlemen!
  16. Wang looks like he's having control problems too. Granted, it's only been one hitter, but I think Sutcliffe is onto something, for those watching the ESPN telecast, the temp changes may be affecting the grip on the ball.
  17. That inning could've been a lot worse than it was. Could've been a lot better... but still...
  18. His best season, in terms of HR's, was with the Dodgers, actually.
  19. Basically, I will never doubt Schilling's ability to play in a big game. I had confidence in him last year, and he came through -- I expect the same in this weekend series.
  20. No... he's saying that if you go into the 9th inning with a lead, you already have an advantage anyway. I could say the same thing in that if you're minimizing this Sox lineup, no matter who's on the mound, you are making a mistake.
  21. I wouldn't say 'as much'... but it's pretty close. They do atleast have a little bit of room for error, this time.
  22. Out of over 72,000 people polled on ESPN.com... 59% disagree with you and say he has gone above and beyond and deserves the MVP. These clutch hits are killing A-Rod. He needs to get a few this weekend... because it's a safe bet that Big Papi will. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/fp/flashPollResultsState?sportIndex=frontpage&pollId=32416
  23. That HAD to lock up the MVP for Big Papi. Was there any doubt that he'd get that hit? He continues to cement his status as one of most clutch hitters this game has ever seen. I love that man.
