  1. Whatever it is I'll take it. Oh don't worry, he will.
  2. Broxton is f***ing garbage!
  3. Yeah really. We could definitely use the support though
  4. I really can't believe we lost this game. I can't specifically comment on what happened because I ended up falling asleep in the 8th inning (hey, long day) and didn't wake up until I heard Buck and McCarver screaming that the Angels won, but whatever it was seems like Girardi really f***ed up.
  5. I missed this before. You would say some s*** like that Gom.
  6. Hey *******, it's ok to respecfufully disagree but I do actually believe that he was arguably the best all-around shortstop ever. If you want to be a prick and say Honus Wagner then go ahead, I wouldn't argue that, but as an ALL-AROUND player, on both sides of the ball (that means offensive and defensive you mental midget) A-Rod was stellar as a shortstop. What are you even trying to say? You pretty much sum up the stereotypical white-boy, red-haired, abercrombie-wearing, RACIST piece of New England s*** that I despise so much you Slayer-loving motherf***er. It's the scrotum-suckers like you that infuriate me to the point of irrationality on this board. And don't ever call me a wigger bro, you don't know the first thing about me. The sad part about all of this is I don't even want Matt Holliday on the Yankees, truthfully.
  7. God damnit!!!!!!

Ryan (33) Justin Speier (35) Derrick Turnbow (31) Jamie Walker (37) Not to mention the ever-growing list of Minor League free agents, some of whom are pretty notable. Baseball America has that, but not in list form, on it's Minor League transactions page.
  9. Losing that 2003 World Seires still haunts me. I still see Alex Gonzalez's HR off Jeff Weaver in my nightmares. I've always been a big Torre supporter, but he did a pretty poor job managing that World Series. WHAT THE f*** WAS JEFF WEAVER DOING IN THE GAME IN THAT SPOT. Gabe White was ready and available. That's the one thing that really sticks out to me in that World Series, but of course Joe made several other questionable decisions. I'm ready to get revenge on Jeff Weaver today by knocking his little, equally ugly brother around a little bit.
  10. Seriously? WHEN THE BEST PLAYER EVER AT A PARTICULAR POSITION IS WILLING TO CHANGE POSITIONS TO PLAY FOR A CONTENDER IT'S OBVIOUSLY FOR THE MONEY, RIGHT? You're an idiot man.
  11. Ya damn right bitch...I'm comin for YOU!!! I could be wrong but I don't recall Jacko ever saying the Sox system was "weak," just that it wasn't as strong anymore. There's a difference, bud. And your only response to anything he has said has been 'Your a Yankee fan so what you say doesnt matter' in so many words. And when given the chance to refute his claims and analysis your response was 'No I don't have to....you're a Yankee fan with a biased opinion' (again, in so many words). Did you read the link he provided by Benjamin from The Globe? I didn't see you attacking her analysis. What a clown... http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:apQ6LuOJi5I5oM:http://k41.pbase.com/v3/90/494590/1/51321746.SadClown_sat.jpg
  12. How do you know it's not Authentic Let's not forget he was willing to change positions even though he was arguably the best shortstop EVER. Not to mention when the Yankees cut off negotiations with Boras regarding A-Rod following the 2007 opt-out he went behind Boras's back to negotiate with the Yankees HIMSELF. If winning wasn't a priority for him he could have easily gone elsewhere and still gotten top dollar. We can all say what we want about A-Rod and the things he has said and done over the years, but I think it's pretty evident the dude really wants to win, and win in New York.
  13. I would certainly not be opposed to it, but as Jacko pointed out Freddy boy and the Steinbrenner clan would NEVER let it happen. But if there is one market in the world that can support three baseball teams, it's New York.
  14. I didn't miss anything man, I'm just saying it's funny that a red Sox fan is trying to make that point. I said I agreed with you to an extent. But if anyone here is missing something it's you...say the past 10 years. If i'm just plain wrong in that thinking then you should probably be calling for Theo Epstein's job. When it comes to making decisions based on the moves of a rival the Red Sox; Theo and John Henry especially, are NOTORIOUS for their obsession with everything going on in the Yankees world and figuring out ways to counteract that. The fact that we're having this conversation is crazy and I still can't help but laugh about it. And with Damon, Nady, and Matsui coming off the books the same could be said for Holliday. He could too be a "needed" piece. In fact more needed than Teixeira was, because at the time of the Tex signing we already had a first baseman, albeit not a very good one in Nick Swisher. Bro no disrespect, but have you been living under a rock the past 5-8 years? Almost every move the Sox have made has been connected to the Yankees in some way. Every public statement your owner makes is ABOUT the Yankees in some way, shape, of form. s***, go look it up man. He's the one that like to play newspaper name-calling with the media when it comes to the Yankees. Let's not forget it was John Henry who coined the term "Evil Empire." He's made countless statements regarding the Yankees over the years I wish I could remember them all. I'm still in utter shock and disbelief that I'm actually having this conversation with a Sox fan. You should know better than that man, cmon. There have been so many instances of this in recent history I could write a book. One example would be Daisuke Matsuzaka. Why the hell do you think the Sox payed so much in posting fees for him? To keep him AWAY from the Yankees, who were thought to be the favorite and the preferred destination for Matsuzaka at the time. There was nothing more for me to say. Jokes are supposed to be funny, and your post was a straight joke my friend. Red Sox fans are really oblivious to a lot of things that their organization does. And it's not that I'm criticizing those things, but you guys need to at least be aware. Like with us Yankee fans we know we spend a lot of money and have a financial advantage. And you're right, with our spending we SHOULD win every year, that's why we put have those expectations year in and year out, so it goes without even saying buddy, nobody's disputing that. But to ignore the revenue sharing system put in place by MLB is a joke. The Yankees fund MOST of the revenue sharing that other team's recieve...for COMPETITIVE BALANCE. Now you might think it's a joke and irrelevant, but those were the rules put in place to implement more competitive balance, and we play well within the rules. And it has worked in increasing a competitive balance, as we see more and more small market teams competing on a regular basis. So to say that we shouldn't even bring up the revenue sharing argument is a joke in and of itself. Now it shouldn't be the basis of the argument, but it's certainly a key element. Everything that we spend we put back into our organization and the REST OF THE LEAGUE, per the revenue sharing. As for steroids man, shutup with that. I really don't want to hear another Red Sox fan cry foul over the use of PED's by Yankee players after the s*** that came out this year. Ignorance is bliss, huh? Nobody said $127 mil and $184 mil were the same thing, but the Sox still outspent 28 other teams. If that's not "buying a championship" then I don't know what is. As for 2004 and 2007, yes, they ARE tainted. Prior to the Manny and Ortiz revelations this year you guys cried foul about all our championships of the 90's and complained about how they were tainted and shouldn't count and so on, so it's only fair that you get what you give. I'm not saying you particularly, although I'm sure you've said something along those lines at some point regarding the Yankees championships; but the Red Sox fanbase as a whole assassinated the Yankees following the Mitchell Report (which let's not forget was done by a Red Sox board member who got all of his information from New York sources and included a minimal amount of Red Sox, conveniently of course), but for some reason turned the other cheek and made excuses this year. Repulsive behavior. I don't know why we all can't agree to just chalk it up and forget about it. Bottom line is EVERYBODY was doing it (and by everybody I mean everybody except Jeter, Rivera, and Posada ); Yankees, Red Sox, Mets, Tigers, Angels, A's....EVERYBODY. To singlr out one team, especially when your team benefited from it's use is pure hypocrisy. Even more so a joke is what it really is. Baseball is trying to get over the tainted steroid era, so let's move past it rather than continue to argue about it because the sad truth of the matter is that the all-time HRleader used, multiple key Yankee players used, multiple key Red Sox players used, same goes for the Twins, Mets, Diamondbacks, etc., etc., etc. So let's DEAD that argument, as it's gotten pretty old. Juiced or not, World Championships are hard to come by. It's still an accomplishment. But you can't go and point fingers and call the Yankees championships "tainted" and not expect the same thing in return when the players who were found to be using for the Red Sox, and the time that they were using is much more relevant. So as far as I'm concerned the book is closed on steroid discussion.
  15. Hahaha Did a Red Sox fan REALLLLLLLY just say that? You better go have a chat with Theo then. I really can't believe you just said that. I don't disagree 100% but that's like calling the kettle black. And don't hate on the pie man, it's not gay because we're winning! Don't be mad because you're watching two other teams playing for the pennant. But I think it's funny that you guys really doubt that anyone ever genuinely wanted to play for the Yankees for a reason other than money. I guess the tradition, winning, first class facilities, the big stage, and the fans have nothing to do with it. Sure the money doesn't hurt, and I'm not saying that some players don't wanna come here just for the money, but you hear so many people say how they dreamed about playing for the Yankees when they were kids, when money wasn't on their mind. I find it hard to believe they're all liars.
  16. Yeah, cuz it sure won't be Matt Holliday But in all seriousness, Holliday's a great player. I just don't think he's a NY guy and I don't think we should go and spend what it would cost to sign him. If he REALLY wants to be a Yankee maybe he'll sign for the 5 years/$90 mil that he rejected from Colorado...but that won't happen. Other than that let him go somewhere else. I hope the Mets sign him, they could use him. I would only want the Yankees to be involved if he was close to signing with the Red Sox, similar to the Teixeira situation. Lets not forget all off-season I stood firm on saying that I did NOT want Teixeira (but of course he turned out to have an incredible season and now I feel like an idiot as I walk around in a Tex jersey cheering his every AB). Luckily things turned out the way they did though. I think the ALCS would look very different if he ended up in Boston. Anyway let me stop rambling and get to the point. I don't doubt one bit that he wants to be a Yankee or play in New York. I question his motive, whether it's money or the desire to play for a model organization that has a chance to win year in and year out. I wouldn't be totally opposed to his signing, but I wouldn't be in favor of giving him big money to come here and flop in the postseason as he did this year with the Cards.
  17. The reason you have seen empty seats all year is because of the cost. If the prices were rational the place would be packed. Now I know what your going to say, the big money people can afford the big money seats, but those people (well most of them) aren't what we would call fans. Don't doubt the loyalty of the Yankee fan-base because most of us can't afford to sit in the seats most visible on television. The rest of that Stadium has been packed with FANS. I agree though, it is ridiculous that we are able to see the best SEATS in the house rather than people sitting in them. And you're probably right, if we win the pennant those seats will most-likely be filled come Game 1 of the Series. It's just a shame that the people who would actually enjoy sitting in those seats can't afford to, while the people who can afford it take it for granted and never bother to show up. Cold or not, if I had tickets for ANY seat at one of these postseason games I would most definitely be there battling the cold. s***...that's what jackets are for.
  18. I saw an interesting stat today. Hideki Matsui's double last night was his 10th in an LCS tying him with Bernie for most all time. That's pretty remarkable considering it was just his 15th LCS game. Anyway...great win last night, let's hope they keep it going tonight! Anyone know who's catching, I haven't heard much about the Burnett-catcher storyline leading up to this start.
  19. Hopefully they can get it in tomorrow, a little cold and snow never killed anybody. I'd rather have both teams be affected by the weather than us be affected by losing our off days. Who knows, we'll see what happens though. I'm very concerned and nervous about this series. If any team in baseball can beat us in a 7 game series it's the Angels, and I think they have a real shot at ending our great season on a sour note.
  20. I love that Twins fans still have ope, it's great! I mean bigger comebacks have occurred before, but with Pavano on the mound for them I feel really good about closing the doors on the "House of Horrors for the Twins tonight.
