  1. Since when were these rules implemented, and if they're enforced how the hell is Kilo still here? As for A-Rod admitting he used, that just means he has more balls than Ortiz. And as for the length of my leash, how would you like it if I took my leash and........oh wait nevermind, I don't wanna break another rule.
  2. Yeah but he attacked babe Ruth. That should be an automatic lifetime ban. You're right, fair enough. I overreacted to him, due to being stressed about something else. My sincerest appologies to SOTK and [cringe] 700
  3. That doesn't make any sense though, because if you're playing for the WIN then you don't put the winning run on first base in the form of the fastest man alive. All Gutierrez has to do is poke one in the gap and the game is over anyway. you're sitting here talking about how devastating it would be if they tied the game, but what about IF THEY WIN THE GAME? .......which they ended up doing anyway. All I'm saying is how can you defend your point in playing for the win by wanting to put the winning run on base. That makes absolutely no sense.
  4. Logic doesn't apply to this f***. Leave it to the Red Sox faithful to defend their PED users....while still continuing to bash those who were Yankees and refer to the recent Yankee championships as tarnished while proudly sporting their 2004 and 2007 memorabilia. f***ing idiot.
  5. How do you know, you ever meet the guy? Sure we've all heard stories about the guy, and his partying habits, but what about the stories of his generosity and charity. How much he loved kids and all the good he did with his name. This man is the god of modern baseball, and you're here badmouthing him because of what jersey he wore, completely ignoring the fact he started his career as a great Red Sox player. Go shove something in your mouth, preferably a fat dick.
  6. Hindsight is 20/20, eh? I can't disagree with what Girardi did. Ichiro isn't known for hitting bombs, although he is their best hitter and the most likely to get a hit, which would have only tied the game. If you put him on and the next guy hits a gap single or something Ichiro scores and wins the game anyway. why not take your chances with Rivera and his cutter on the mound against the lefty-hitting Ichiro? On the subject of Ichiro, I looked up his NPB stats because they were talking about how his numbers would look if you combined both his Japanese and MLB numbers on last night's telecast, and in doing so I learned Ichiro has well over 3000 hits already. Actually he has 3293 when you add his 1278 hits in NPB. Also I came across this video of Ichiro pitching in the 1996 NPB All Star Game. I knew he had pitched, but dont think I ever saw him doing it in action (only on a baseball card or something). Looks like Matsui was on deck while Ichiro was warming up, but I guess they pinch-hit for him. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hoOnzwJOAFM&feature=player_embedded Dude can really do ANYTHING!
  7. lol Good for Kennedy. Hopefully the rest of his recovery goes well. After the season he is set to go to the AFL, and maybe even possibly some Winter Ball. Nothing of significant importance, but Kennedy's number 31 is occupied by Mike Dunn, so Kennedy is wearing 38, which belonged to Brian Bruney who switched to 99 last night. Looked pretty funny to see number 99 warming up in the bullpen last night. I can't even remember who the last number 99 was for the Yankees. I don't even recall someone wearing it in camp or anything. Edit: The ONLY other number 9 in Yankees history was Charlie Keller. Now that you all have your useless bit of information for the day, have a good one!
  8. Absolutely. That's the only way you can look at it. I'm sure Red Sox fans have similar expectations for their team now as well.
  9. I don't give a damn how many wins they finish with in the regular season, as long as they get 11 in the postseason. Those are my expectations, year in and year out. Lets make it happen this year.
  10. Crazy game tonight...I didn't get there until the top of the 8th inning lol, but at least I got to see the action. Let's keep it rolling out on the road. Bed time...
  11. Hill got hit in the back, not the head. And do you really think it was intentional? Not that I'm condoning Posada's behavior (although it was entertaining), he should have just accepted the fact that 2 Jays got hit so they're gonna be throwing at someone. If Carlson went up and in or actually even hit him I would have no problem with Jorgie's actions, I just think the situation went too far and probably should have been avoided all together. I dont mind too much though, been a while since we've seen a brawl in the Bronx.
  12. I agree with everything you're saying Crunchy, but not now. Let's do that in Spring training. Hughes has been Mariano 96/Joba 07/K-Rod 02-esque in the pen this year, and we shouldn't f*** that up so close to the postseason. There's no guarantees that Joba would adjust successfully if moved to the pen right now, so why take the chance? Next year however, their roles should be switched, or both of them should be starting (with say a Valverde type setting up Mo )
  13. I just read the AP's story about Guzman's call-up in the paper, and part of the headline states that he may be auditioning for a spot off the bench on the postseason roster. I don't understand how that would work, he wasn't on the 40 man roster before yesterday, let alone the August 31st deadline for postseason eligibility. The only way I can see him being eligible for a postseason roster spot is if another outfielder goes down with an injury. Am I missing something? Let me see if I can find a link.... http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/articles/2009/09/15/yankees_bring_up_guzman_for_possible_postseason/?rss_id=Boston.com+--+Baseball+News
  14. Did I not just acknowledge that in my previous post? For someone accusing us Yankee fans of being stupid, you should really look in the mirror and seek improvement in your grammar and reading comprehension skills, pal. Edit: But his numbers aren't better than Tex's, and he plays about half of his games at first. I think it's fair to say we get more everyday production out of our catcher and first baseman than you guys do. I don't have the numbers in front of me, nor do I have the time to look them up right now, but if you wanna take it upon yourself to prove a point for me then go right ahead.
  15. Please guys, Martinez is an adequate catcher, as is Posada, but they both leave something to be desired behind the plate. As for us missing out on VMart, I'm fine with that. Posada can still do the job, Molina is arguably the best backup catcher in baseball, Cervelli did very well in his time in the bigs this year, and Montero and Pillitiere aren't too far away. We're good fellas, thanks. You should be more concerned with your team and your captain than our catcher, Last I checked Posada was hitting over .280 with 21 homers and 76 RBIs with a .358 OBP and .529 Slugging. All of which s*** on Varitek's numbers. Martinex does have Posada beat in Average, RBIs, and OBP...I'll give you guys that one. But as far as I can see we're in pretty good shape.
  16. I'm hoping for either a Yanks/Cards or Yanks/Dodgers series. But the fact of the matter is I dont care who we beat
  17. Wait was that a serious question?
  18. Oh the irony.... But you're right, even if you can't say it logically, nobody is denying VMart is a good offensive player. You've got to have your head examined (or maybe your eyes checked) though if you're going to debate the fact that he's not at all a good defensive catcher. He's not a good receiver, the only thing that makes him a premiere catcher is his bat. If he were so great behind the plate Cleveland wouldn't have played him at first almost half of the season while he was there (47 games at first compared to 52 played behind the plate while with Cleveland this year). Now before you throw an insult at me for being a Yankee fan, just know I've heard them all, so be original.
  19. But if they do in fact plan on putting him in the pen for October, even if just for the ALDS where we only need 3 starters, then they should put him there now. And I'm so sick of them babying these pitchers with innings limits. Look what Nolan Ryan's doing in Texas, seems to be working pretty well. His arm isn't going to fall off if he goes 15-20 innings over his limit. Believe me, I understand the concern and why they're taking this approach, I think they just need to reassess their plans and maybe change the approach a little. He's not gonna succeed unless he pitches, and pitching 3 innings a start, and then going to the bullpen for 6 innings is just ridiculous. If he does indeed stay in the rotation in October, they've said there won't be any limits, but if he's only pitching 3-4 innings a start until then it's gonna be hard to stretch him out to the point where he can give us quality starts in October. Like I said, I understand the situation, I just think they're coddling him a little too much.
  20. Do the Ripken kids play on a regulation field or a youth field? I couldn't tell lol. If not, what are the differences between Little League and Ripken?
  21. If I had a vote it would go to Grienke.
