  1. I believe he was being sarcastic. The fact that the Red Sox have sold out more than 500 consecutive games is all the more reason they should be spending.
  2. I didn't think so.
  3. What's really hilarious is you guys. None of us our denying a financial advantage whatsoever. Yeah we won, and we were supposed to win. We spent enough money, that's for sure. But what I can't get over is how you guys criticize the Yanks for their spending and then turn a blind cheek to the spending of your own team. I just don't get it. Perhaps either of you would like to elaborate with more than just "thisz iz effin hilariouszz." I doubt it though.
  4. I don't see how it was so hilarious. We might have a different sense of humor, but how can Red Sox fans honestly, and objectively deny the fact that they spend a ton of money as well. They're the second richest team in Baseball, and in 2007 when you guys last won it all you shelled out a fortune. If you guys are going to accuse the Yankees of "buying" a championship, take off the rosy red glasses and acknowledge that you guys did the exact same thing. I disagree with the notion that teams can "buy" championships, however. You can buy the players that win championships, but if buying a championship were possible we would have just won our 12th consecutive World Series. Now obviously that isn't the case. Championships are won on the field, not in the checkbook. All of what I just said in this post is factual, and anybody who wants to seriously debate any of it please go ahead. Bottom line, if you guys are so bitter about us "buying" our championship, shouldnt the fans of the other 28 teams have just as much right to be bitter about the Sox buying theirs?
  5. FWIW, I think we should stay far, far away from Lackey lol.
  6. Damon stays on a two-year deal and Matsui is gone. I think Cashman seems pretty stuck on that. I wish it were the other way around as Damon's defense is miserable to watch, but I can almost guarantee that's how it's going to go. As for Matsui, there's no telling where he ends up. Despite all of the Seattle speculation, I think you can cross the Mariners off the list as he and Ichiro genuinely don't get along, and don't like each other very much. It seems it would make the most sense for him to sign with an American League team but I think the Mets are a serious suitor. They seem like the type of team that would take a gamble on Matsui in the field, and lets not forget that Matsui has also stated recently that he is open to moving to first base. If I recall correctly I believe I also read somewhere that he said he wouldn't mind playing for the Mets. He loves new York and he loves the big stage, so unless by some miracle the Yankees resign him, the Mets are my favorite to land him. And with the Mets luck it will be after they sign him that he breaks down and his knees give out forcing him to miss a significant chunk of the season. Better them than us. Another option that hasn't been mentioned too much, and might be a long-shot is him returning to Japan to end his career, either with the Yomiuri Giants (who have a 3 games to 2 lead over Yu Darvish and the Nippon Ham Fighters in the Nippon Series) or a Pacific League team (Pacific League uses the DH, Central League does not. Giants are in the Central League). Either way, Matsui's seven years in pinstripes have turned out to be quite a ride, and I'm just glad that it all culminated in a Championship for Hideki-san.
  7. Not a bad move. Where's he supposed to play though, is Theo already counting on losing Bay?
  8. You saw a 3 year old picture of a bunch of dudes, grandpa. My sex life is fine, and all natural. Keep on taking your little blue pills old-timer and shut your mouth.
  9. I can't believe some of the bitterness I'm still seeing. Get over it guys....

  11. lol what happened with the ticket?
  12. I forgot how good this feels. It's better than sex!!
  13. I've had a feeling for a long time that he might retire after this year if they won it. I think he would like to go out on top. He's getting older, and although it might not seem like it his skills are declining. He seems like the kind of guy that wants to go out on his own terms, and what better way than as a champion at the top of his game. Hopefully I'm wrong though.
  14. I wouldn't mind having him in the pen here in the Bronx. I'm sure he wouldn't either.
  15. He hit like 8 million in the series, hit 3 home runs, and drove in 6 runs tonight. It's well deserved.
  16. Well deserved. He's been the epitome of class and hard work since he came over in 2003. Considering the fact that he most likely won't be back next season, I'm happier for him than I am for anyone else on the team. We all know how bad he wanted it, and I'm glad he got to experience it.
  17. So how about that username change yeszir?
  18. and a special thanks to you my friend!
  19. Thank you guys.
  20. WORD! Hot Stove season is the BEST time of the year. With Spring Training a close second. But the stove is always a little warmer after a World Championship.
