Report: Longtime Yankees voice Sheppard retiring
26 to 6 replied to a700hitter's topic in Other Baseball
You're a couple days late with it buddy. If you don't give a s***, good for you. But then why start a thread about it? -
Okay, fine. but before this turns into a full-blown argument I'm just gonna bow out and say whatever, you're right. Although his daughter Julia never had anything but great things to say about him as a father and all of his charitable actions have been well-documented you would rather just go back and forth about the character of a guy who's been dead for 61 years. I'm not disputing that the man had a drinking problem, as well as the countless other demons he battles with, as most of us do. But just keep in mind that before you go judging other people; especially those who have had a much greater impact on the world than yourself and who have been adored by generations of Americans, make sure you look in the mirror. For somebody so judgmental of everybody else you MUST be perfect, huh? Idc, it's not that important to me, so I'm done. Go on and post a rage induced insult-laden response in your best effort to get me to partake in your never-ending back and forth battles of bitterness, but I'm in too good a mood right now to give a f***. Have a nice night.

That he may have been, but he was also very charitable, especially when it came to the kids.
-
I agree. They want Montero and either Hughes or Joba. While I feel that is certainly a fair return for Halladay, I think I would rather hang onto our young guys. I think the biggest win for us in the whole Halladay ordeal would be if he were traded to an NL team.

Former Padres GM Kevin Towers may be close to joining the Yankees as an adviser. http://www.newsday.com/sports/baseball/ex-padres-gm-towers-could-join-yankees-as-adviser-1.1624374

Yankees made a BIG splash today in signing OF Jon Weber to a minor league deal with a ST invite Reported by ken Davidoff via his twitter account This winter he's been playing for Venados de Mazatlan of the Mexican Winter League. In 15 games he's hitting .455/.471/.682 with 3 HR and 19 RBI. This past season he played in 117 games for the Durham Bulls (TB AAA) and hit .302/.382/.497 with 14 HR and 69 RBI. Offseason has been slow thus far... lol
-
I wouldn't. I just wouldn't want the Red Sox to get him either. But I think with the way everything revolves around money in sports we need more guys like Mauer who (may) want to stay home. Besides, I'm very excited about the three catchers we have in Cervelli, Montero, and Romine...one of 'em has to pan out.
-
Yeah I agree. He's a hometown guy, face of the franchise, and loves playing for the Twins. I honestly hope he doesn't go anywhere.
-
I think even $8m a year is overpaying for him. If he doesn't sign for that let him goooo, plain and simple.
-
Good for him he had an incredible season. I think when it's all said and done he may very well go down as the best catcher ever.
-
Gotcha.

Rosenthal is reporting that the Yankees might be interested in both Mike Gonzalez and Rafael Soriano. I've always been big on both of these guys and would love if they added one, if not both of them. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/10357594

I would have liked to see Wainwright get it, but I've got no problem with Lincecum, he's an outstanding pitcher and deserves it.
-
The last deal between the Sox and the Yanks was Mike Stanley back in the mid-90's, I don't expect them to be matching up on any trades any time soon. As for Swisher, if we can get something decent for him then good. He brought a lot to the team off the field this year but I wouldn't mind sending him packing. That would definitely increase the chances of keeping Nady, who I prefer.
-
This is true...my apologies good sir. Take it easy
-
LOL I only insist on calling people who whine whiners. What's your excuse? You've engaged in name-calling and insults more than anyone, why is that excused? As for the new guy, he wasn't running his mouth, he didn't make a personal attack towards anybody, he simply displayed a good competitive attitude and stated that rather than bitch about it like some people, the Sox need to just move on and look towards next season. Complaining about the Yankees spending habits isn't going to change anything, the best thing the Sox and their fans could do is look towards next year my friend. As for me being unable to defend my points, I haven't tried to because I'm not trying to make any points, I made my point long ago. I'm staying out of these ridiculous discussions where all you do is spout insults and bitch and moan like a woman on the rag. What exactly have you brought to this conversation besides a piss-poor attitude and more tears than a than an infant? Maybe people would have more respect for you and better be able to engage in discussion with you if every other sentence wasn't an insult. Rather than engage in an intelligent conversation explaining your points you just tell everybody how you feel, and then attack those who don't agree with you. Grow the f*** up dude. I've got nothing else to say on the matter aside from QUIT YOUR f***ING BITCHING. And chill with the insults and name-calling, we're not 6 years old here. Oh and here, you might need these... http://treesflowersbirds.files.wordpress.com/2008/05/211_kleenex.jpg?w=300&h=300 http://content.costco.com/Images/Content/Product/241104b.jpg

No, crying is what you've been doing since Teixeira caught the ball that registered out #27 in Game 6 of the World Series.......call it what you want but to everybody else it just looks like a sad, jealous person who can't stop bitching and crying. Get over it, you continuing to cry about it isn't going to change anything. I made the edit because I feel bad for the dude who just joined here and after his first post gets attacked by you. I imagine you suffer from LMS and a ton of insecurity because you're always here attacking and insulting people like it's your job, just to make you feel better about yourself I suppose? Idk why you always have to stir s*** up when someone has a differing viewpoint than yours, you can't just act your age and agree to disagree? Not everybody in life is going to agree with everything the almighty Dipre has to say. How you've managed to not get banned yet is beyond me (I know my fuse wouldn't have been nearly as long as yours has been).
-
I hate when players do this....damn Jeter wannabe.
-
Whatever you say pal. Just do us all a favor and stop crying. It's painful when a grown man can't stop crying. Idk how you can think otherwise about his post with the exception of the part where voiced his displeasure in everybody whining about the Yankees winning. Everything aside from that was pretty dead on, wouldn't you agree?
-
LOL Dipre you crack me up bro. His post was insightful and well though out. I don't understand how you could attack his attitude towards the whole thing, he wants the Sox to go out and address their needs and compete. Wouldn't you want the same or do you just want the championship handed to you? Oh, and the Yankees don't take advantage, they play within the rules my friend. You just need to get over it already, the Yankees won, plain and simple. It's ok to be upset or displeased, but you don't have to cry about it the entire offseason. Lets focus on Licey winning a championship and worry about the Yanks and Sawx next season. The constant bitching, moaning, and bullying aren't helping your image.

Unrelated to LeBron but since we're talking about the Knicks, I really think they should snag Iverson no the cheap now that he and the Grizzlies have parted ways. Although he's just a shell of his former self, I still think he's got a little something left in the tank. He wouldn't cost much and i think he and LeBron could be a pretty good tandem next year, along with Nate, Hughes, and Duhon.
