  1. The more I think about it, the less I dislike it. It's not such a bad deal, and hopefully Granderson works out. idk what Arizona was thinking though.
  2. Whats Granderson's 2010 salary? What's the rest of his contract look like?
  3. Me too. Watch him turn out to be the next Willie Mays in Detroit. f***!
  4. According to Kepner this is the breakdown: Arizona gets: Jackson (Det) Kennedy (NYY) Detroit gets: Jackson (NYY) Coke (NYY) Scherzer (Ari) Schlereth (Ari) Yankees get: Granderson :wtf:
  5. So I guess that means Kennedy, Coke, Jackson for Granderson and ? I'm shaking my head.
  6. Wow. Who are we sending? Kennedy to Arizona (thank god), and one of either Coke or Dunn to Detroit along with Austin Jackson? I'm not sure I like this very much if all we're getting in return is Granderson. I hope there's at least a prospect or 2 coming our way.
  7. His numbers at AA weren't too impressive this year, although they weren't too bad either. Idk, I have a hard time seeing him stick beyond spring training. Perhaps my projection based on a quick glance at his numbers could be way off, which I'm hoping is the case if he is indeed their selection, but idk.
  8. So apparently this thing is pretty close, and a decision from the Yankees as to whether or not to pull the trigger is expected by 2 pm.
  9. Absolutely, I like Duscherer a lot and commend his courage in going public with his depression issues rather than hide behind some phony injury like a lot of players suffering from mental health issues do. I would'nt be opposed to the Yankees signing him one bit. Unlikely that it happens though, imo.
  10. Me too. I can't wait to find out.
  11. Oh well gee thanks, that means so much. Your opinions and approval mean the world to me lol
  12. Clemente...without having to look Imagine if he stayed with the Dodgers and played in Brooklyn.
  13. Yeah your probably right. I just don't think he'll be worth $10m in 2011. Could be worse though...
  14. I mean I suppose it's reasonable, but I don't like the idea of giving him 2 years. 1 year and an option, whether it be club or vesting would be another thing. But I really hate guaranteeing him 2 years, especially at $10m per.
  15. Agreed, he would be a great pickup for the Mets. Perhaps they should look into Granderson too if they can't get a power bat for the OF. He could probably patrol that spacious outfield well with his speed and maybe even do well offensively with the huge gaps and alleys.
  16. At this point after seeing more of TD I wouldn't care if you called him names or not Talk about the pot calling the kettle black lol. OK I didn't mean to revive this thread, I just came here to share an interesting pic of the Babe that I found that obviously doesn't warrant a new thread. http://www.shorpy.com/files/images/36424u.preview.jpg Here's a shot of Ruth from 1923 posing with John McGraw wearing a Giants uniform. Apparently he suited up for the Giants for an charity benefit exhibition game against the minor league Baltimore Orioles on October 3rd 1923. I thought that it was a pretty cool shot. Not a surprise that neither of them are smiling, as McGraw DESPISED Ruth and how he was "ruining" the game with his extraordinary power hitting. I'm sure the feelings were reciprocated by Ruth.
  17. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/jon_heyman/12/07/angels.mariners/1.html#ixzz0Z4UM2gRU Heyman reports the Yanks are preparing a 2 year/$20m offer for Damon. Why?
  18. He has. Carl Pavano also accepts arbitration from the Twins. Great pickup for the Nats. Especially with their young pitching staff.
  19. See I kinda hope we don't get him at all. He's a nice player, but I think with Melky already there and A-Jax looming in the wings there's really no room for him. He's not a viable COF candidate when A-Jax comes up, and he would probably cost us too much. I would pass.
  20. I don't disagree. The only reason I said Melky in left was because he asked if we acquired Granderson who should play left and who should play center. I really thought you were advocating Granderson as a better left fielder for a second
