  1. Yeah that's what it was.
  2. How is Lee better than Halladay? :dunno:
  3. Is it 5 years/$85m or 5 years/$82.5m? I've heard both.
  4. This sucks. I love Hideki, the fact that he's going tot he hated Angels blows. He's going to be a huge addition to their lineup. He's a classy guy and great clutch hitter. He's exactly what the doctor ordered for the halos.
  5. I imagine it will be a package of the prospetcs they get from Seattle as well as some of their own.
  6. uhh....no. There's no Halladay+Lee, its Halladay at the expense of Lee. Where did you hear it was a straight up swap, as all reports indicate Lee would be sent to the M's.
  7. Wow...just heard this on WFAN. It's not official yet but apparently the Phils want to negotiate a deal with Halladay before officially agreeing to the deal. I think the Phils should have tried to get Halladay WITHOUT trading Lee. Idk what there payrolld and budget situation looks like and if it would have been feasible, but a top 3 of Halladay, Lee, and Hamels would have been pretty nasty.
  8. Rumor has it that lackey is set to take a physical for the the Sox.
  9. In other minor news, 2003 first round bust Eric Duncan has signed a minor league deal with Atlanta, and Cody Ransom has signed one with the Phillies.
  10. As expected the Yanks non-tendered Wang. Hopefully they can still bring him back. Also, the Yankees are interested in 30 year old free agent Japanese reliever Ryota Igarashi of the Tokyo Yakult Swallows. He has a live arm (co-holder of the NPB record for fastest pitch in a game, and sole holder of fastest average pitch speed throughout a season. He has control issues though and is prone to the wild pitch. He also missed the entire 2007 season recovering from Tommy John surgery. For the right price he might be worth a look, but I wouldn't go into the season counting on him to be a big part of our bullpen. http://riveraveblues.com/2009/12/report-yanks-interested-in-ryota-igarashi-21179/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+RiverAveBlues+%28River+Ave.+Blues%29
  11. This is non-news but I'm bored and there isn't much happening. Josh Towers signed a minor league deal with the Dodgers. He spent 2009 with the Yanks, mostly in AAA but had a brief stint in September.
  12. That's awesome. Last year they did it at Wrigley (I believe). There was talk about them doing it at the old Yankee Stadium but that never happened. I love the idea though, even though I'm not a hockey fan.
  13. I'm just being biased. I hate Cameron....seeing him in pinstripes would make me sick.
  14. I don't really see anymore needs. In addition to signing Damon (or Matsui, as reports have Damon and the Yanks "far apart" on any deal) and some added bench depth we don't really need much more. Sure if he wants to add a starter, be it Lackey or Halladay or whoever then the payroll will probably surpass the limit they have in place, but I'm sure they'll cross that bridge when they get to it.
  15. In Milwaukee.....
  16. Idk what all the hype with Cameron is. He's been mentioned with the Yankees for the past few years now, but I don't want him at all. He couldn't cut it in Queens, what makes people think he'll be productive here. The last thing we need is another old outfielder.
  17. Not necessarily. I know they've involved him in trade discussions, but I doubt they hand over the closer's role to Putz after not pitching most of last season. I think they're better suited having Putz set up for Jenks.
  18. Yeah I'm content passing on Halladay. I just hope the Sox don't get him.
  19. http://blogs.suntimes.com/whitesox/2009/12/start_spreading_the_news_sox_e.html The White Sox apparently "covet" Gardner. I've never been much of a Gardner fan, so hopefully with the outfield surplus, especially if Johnny comes back, Gardner is the casualty and not Melky. The Royals have also inquired. I think if Cashman can get anything of value for him he should jump on it.
  20. I love how you just guarantee him a spot in the starting lineup vs lefties, no questions asked. How much do you really no about the kid aside from what you've read TODAY? A lot of Dodger people are convinced that he won't stick and just shrugged off the fact that he was selected. The Dodgers are very confident that he he'll be returned. http://www.nypost.com/p/blogs/hardball/dodgers_react_to_losing_hoffman_zHoYNlhg6x4zyqckYtP8OK But yet you have him as a significant player in our lineup. C'mon Jacko lets see the kid take a swing in spring training before you anoint him as the next coming of Joe DiMaggio.
