  1. what are you crazy or something? that will never happen
  2. Isnt the game in Houston tomorrow? Game 1: @ STL Game 2: @ STL Game 3: @ HOU Game 4: @ HOU Game 5: @ HOU Game 6: @ STL Game 7: @ STL ------------------- but yea, despite the fact that I have always liked the Cardinals, the last 2 NLCS' I have been rooting against them in favor of Roger and Andy. And with Andy on the mound tomorrow, being the big game pitcher he is I expect them to take it away.
  3. both of those, and he's a successful New Yorker ...and yea, he is a Yankee fan
  4. why not, i do it?
  5. Yo Donald Trump is the f***ing Man!!!
  6. I understand where you guys are coming from, but in all fairness to him it is not stated anywhere that you must give the ball to the winning team. And he didnt just take the ball and give it to his wife to sneak out, he actually went to an MLB official first and got it authenticated. Now if it were a requirement to give the ball back the official would have taken it then. ...I dont feel he's overrated, but he's definately not a very good hitter. I never hear people hyping up his offensive abilities. But in fairness to Doug, he is capable of depositing a ball into the seats.
  7. I TRY to not get on a player too much (been pretty unsuccessful lately, i admit) when they struggle and fail because you never know whats going on in their personal lives. Like when I played ball for my school before I got hurt, there were always a lot of expectations for me and I didnt meet them due to personal reasons, so I try to be compassionate. but like I said, this October has sidetracked me from that.
  8. he didnt steal yout world series ball. He took the ball that HE caught to give you guys the World Series. Cant blame him, I would have done the exact same thing. And na, hes pretty underrated, he is one of the best defensive 1Bmen in the game. But yea, I think Olerud is coming back too. But I also wouldnt be surprised if you guys made a huge push for Konerko
  9. I didnt say he was the next Roger Clemens. The basis of my statement was to give you guys an idea of his stature over there. I could have said that he was a top pitcher over there, but you might have not gotten the point, and compared him in your head to say a Barry Zito or Mike Mussina. The purpose of the Clemens comparrison (and it wasnt really a comparrison) was to express how he is the top pitcher over there. I sware to god you mother f***ers always try to pick little stupid fights with me, grow up.
  10. this my friends is GOOD NEWS. Matsuzaka is like the Roger Clemens of NPB. I had not heard he intended on coming over this soon, the way I understood it was that he would stay over there for a few more years. If you listen to Bobby Valentine talk about him you would think he's Cy Young, Walter Johnson, Pete Alexander, Bob Gibson, Whitey Ford, Roger Clemens, and Randy Johnson all rolled into one. Now that is obviously an exageration
  11. Im probably in the minority here, but Mazzone is not my first choice. My first choices are Righetti and Guidry. Mazzone is a Brave and he should stay that way. Him and Bobby Cox work magic together and I think that has somethign to do with their success. Both Rags and Gator know what it's like here, both are very well liked and respected here, and I think both would do a good job here. What exactly does a pitching coach have to do to determine if he is good or not. Personally, if great pitchers (Clemens, Wells, etc.) are stating that he is the best that they've ever had then I will go with them. Im not saying hes the best oitching coach ever, because clearly he's not. He wasnt even the best pitching coach of the last 10 years, that was Mazzone without a doubt, but Mel is nowhere's near as bad as you guys make him out to be.
  12. It's a McCarty jersey, notice the World Series patch on the right sleeve. Graffanino never wore a Red Sox jersey with a World Series patch.
  13. arent the Rockies really happy with Closser behind the plate though? They DID boot C.J., who was pretty popular in Colorado and is a pretty good catcher to make room for Closser.
  14. yup, Max is on after Kay. I started to really like Max on I,Max. Reali isnt that bad on ATH, but hes no Kellerman.
  15. Um...Pettitte was NOT proven in 1996 when Mel got a hold of him, Rocket was obviously proven but still to this day he declares that the best pitching coach he's ever had was Mel (and I think he knows a little bit more about what makes a pitching coach a good pitching coach than you do), Muusina was also proven, but I dont think you can dispute that he improved vastly after coming over. Wells as well, was obviously proven, but learned and improved a lot. And he too still says that Mel was the best pitching coach he's ever worked with.
  16. Believe it or not brainwashed Red Sox fans, stats arent always all that matter. Ryan Howard is a gamer, and for a rookie wih limited playing time last year he impressed very much. I would take him over Chad Tracy in a HEARTBEAT. That being said, the Phillies are not stupid, and do not plan on trading him. If they can tarde a 1B they will try to trade Thome. They will likely be wiling to eat a portion of the contract and try to send him to someone in need. If not, they will work a platoon most likely.
  17. Appearantly Stick Michael is requesting a contract buyout. If this is true, I think the biggest loss for the Yakees organization over the winter would be him. While Steinbrenner was under suspension, Stick built this team (well not THIS team, the dynasty team) along with his managers (Stump Merrill, Buck Showalter, etc.). Frankly, I cant blame him. he has been treated horribly the past few years, has had practically no part in running the organization, and appearantly he has had it after not being included in the postseason scouting. http://www.nypost.com/sports/yankees/29534.htm
  18. I think aquiring Huff would be a great move for anybody. What he brings to the table is exactly what most teams need/want. He seems to play pretty hard, he's a very good offensive player, not a gold glover but he IS versatile, being able to play the Corners in both the Infield and the Outfield. He has not yet reached his prime, which means that there is still more to come from him. This guy would be a plus for anybody.
  19. lol
  20. figured that...seems like an ******* on ESPN
  21. 1 word...respect respect for the Yankees and their fans and would never jump ship like that and pull a Boomer Wells. Nope, sorry pal. Hes not going to go where there is "more money". If he leaves the Yanks, there will be another reason behind it rather than the money.
  22. exactly why I am scared shitless about them getting him. but I doubt it, in an article on MLB.com he said he still desires to close and will likely sign somewhere he can close.
  23. Na, Girardi is going to get the Florida job...I guarantee it more on possible successors for Mel: http://www.newsday.com/sports/printedition/ny-spyanks134467411oct13,0,2103023.story?page=2&coll=ny-sports-print
  24. thank you
