  1. .....and plus the fact that I was pulling for him to get drafted by us back in 03, and it happened. (Eric is from the tri-state area, jersey to be specific, and before he got drafted the Daily News would always have a lot about him, like boxscores and stuff, so I said "I hope we get this kid", not really thinking we would, because we had the 27th pick that year and everybody expected him to go sooner...but we got him!! )
  2. I wouldnt want to trade Duncan, we will need a 1B in the coming years, and if he doesnt work out there I can see him as a solid corner outfielder.
  3. its not like I came here to rub it in, i was already here, this is a quality board. ...And you guys take it too serious, I was just being humerous about the whole situation. Example1; good point, this is a Red Sox board...but you can't deny that the primary motive of attacking the Yankees IF Cashman had not resigned would have been to aggravate us Yankees fans here.
  4. shut up...I was simply agreeing with ARod, because it is true, someone called him classless I guess for saying something about Theo leaving, but if Cashman had left you all would be saying something. Im not starting any problems or anything...and exactly what reason is there to ban me, im not like some of the other Yankee fans that come here and make stupid posts and threads just completly bashing the Red Sox. And YES, I know this is a Red Sox message board, but unless I get banned I plan on sticking around a little.
  5. pretty much...odds are, if Cahsman is the GM of the Philadelphia Phillies right now, we're not ever hearing the end of it from some of the guys here.
  6. good point...thanks Larry ...but seriously now, what a f***ing surprise, im just waiting for, like YS said, them to come out and say "tricked ya" or something like that. This is crazy.
  7. Watch Beane trade Zito to Boston for a bag of balls then bolt Oakland for the Sox a week later.....I would be pretty upset (as would Bud, who would probaby void the deal)
  8. I thought this was a joke too....wow
  9. Yea, and he just agreed to become the Yankees' assistant GM replacing Jean Afterman
  10. Just for the record, if CASHMAN (not George) signs A.J. burnett, I take back everything good I said about him in the other thread. This is a guy we should let go pitch for Boston or Toronto so that he could get hurt, and mess up their pitching staff.
  11. at least you guys got it out of the way and didnt let him hit the open market.
  12. The Dodgers fans would dip his ass in Salsa and eat him alive if he did that. Absolutely
  13. I agree, I dont think its fair to declare the signing of Pavano a mistake based on an injury-plagued half-a-season. If he is as bad next year then I will admit its a mistake, btu I think everyone needs an adjustment period, it just so happens then during his he got hurt.
  14. Agreed...though trading LoDuca didnt help his case. The Rays already have a mega-surplux of outfielders. They need no more, especially one who could potentially affect (negatively) the development of some of those young guys. I dont even want to think about it. NY papers want who out??
  15. Never Its a shame they're going to consider doing it to the new Yankee Stadium. "Yankee Stadium at ___________ Plaza" At least we'll still have "Yankee Stadium" in there.
  16. I liked PacBell, I hated SBC, and I dont think im going to like AT&T very much either. Whatever, regardless what they call it, it wont give them a better pitching staff.
  17. im not so sure about that, but its possible. If we do then Tino will retire.
  18. im sure the Sox have gotten some more recognition
  19. I am acknowldeging that the comment would be challenged, because I know it will because there are some things Red Sox fans wont admit about the Yankees and vice versa of coarse. The reason isnt to express that I feel that I'm going to be challanged. Its hard to explain, but I catch your point.
  20. What are our other alternatives? Obviously the best lefty out there is Ryan, but if we got him I would want to use him as the setup man, I wouldnt thinkof bringin him in to face a lefty ni a 4-4 game in the 6th inning.
  21. I wouldnt mind having everyday Eddie as a lefty guy out of the pen. Probably would be an upgrade ove Embree. ...But then again, anybody would be an upgrade over Embree. Even I would be an upgrade over Embree in the lefty role...and im a righty!
  22. Fair enough. You guys who have read this thread know I have nothing but respect for Theo, as he has done a remarkable job. Lets leave it at that.
  23. Please, saying that you cant deny that the A-Rod deal was a good deal, though some of you will is not playing a "victim routine", its making a statement. You most certainly have a problem with people being "confrontational" (though, regardless of my username, not my intention), only when I point out how Boston fans act the same way do you change the tune.
  24. Not you, but Red Sox fans in general.
  25. and so I guess thats sort of the case with the Schilling deal for you guys, huh? If you cant give Cash credit for ARod then dont give Theo credit for Schilling, because even though we didnt spend months on it, we did spend some time working on getting him.
