  1. I hope you were being sarcastic.....getting just Jay Payton is hardly raping them. s***, its not even touching them, let alone a sexual assault of any kind
  2. anyone still visit that site? some good stuff now and then
  3. woahh...ive been following this all day, but when I got home about 3 i fell asleep and just woke up, looks like i missed it all. ...........good move, Larry Bowa has been credited as "the best 3rd base coach in the majors" and I would love to have him there. Its likely that Sojo will move over to first and White will be booted, but I would like to leave both White and Sojo on the staff, maybe let Sojo coach first and let WHite play the Rob Thompson/Rich Monteolone "special instructor" role.
  4. wow...this thread got stupid!
  5. ur right, i didnt really think it through
  6. ...true, but not necessarily reality
  7. Ive never been there and always wanted to go. In fact I was supposed to go this summer but my medical situation pretty much nixed that one in the ass. Too bad
  8. Go Astros! Make Andy the only person in addition to Ramiro Mendoza to win 5 rings in their career with 4 of them coming during the Yankees dynasty run of the '90s, and of coarse give Roger and Vizcaino one as well. And you could also throw Mike Lamb (2004 Spring Training Yankee) and former Met Dan Wheeler in there for me to root for. ..personally I wouldnt start Roger in game 1. Torre tended to use him in Game 3 so that he would wind up pitching a Game 7, and I dont think he would be that great in a Game 1 spot. What I would do is.. Game 1: Backe Game 2: Pettitte Game 3: Clemens Game 4: Oswalt Game 5: Backe Game 6: Pettitte Game 7: Clemens
  9. another possibility is that Luccino, Henry, and Theo are having sexual affairs with each other...but not likely lol jp ...but really, of coarse there was speculation when Giambi was signed, but very little. Sterods were not a big deal then. There was VERY LITTLE, if any speculation regarding Sheffield, and i doubt that anybody in the world suspected Felix Heredia.
  10. I have to disagree with you Alexanderthegreat, I think Mazzone will do a great job with that staff and definately make them an obsticle for us. Look at it this way, if they have him this year their pitching doesnt fall apart and they stay in it and possibly win the division.
  11. Mazzone likely headed to Baltimore I posted this a few days ago, but Mazzone was NOT my first choice (and I know im in the minority on this one), as I prefer Righetti or Guidry. But this definately doesn't help our chances for a 9th straight Division Championship.
  12. I dont wanna talk about it lol
  13. I just heard that Mazzone agreed to go to Baltimore, but im trying to find a more credible source than the one I found.
  14. So much for that then. http://www.japantimes.co.jp/cgi-bin/getsp.pl5?sb20051019j1.htm ^thats the link regarding Yakult catcher Atsuya Furuta signing on to be player-manager of the Swallows^
  15. My best guess is Lee Mazzilli. Just a hunch I have.
  16. Im pulling for the Astros, as you all know (for obvious Yankee reasons) and what a series it would be with that Houston pitching against the White Sox pitching of late.
  17. i hope we bring him back, I kind of enjoyed having him here die to his versaitlity, his ability to hit here and there, and the fact that I always love seeing a former Red Sock in pinstripes But if we dont bring him back it wont be that big a deal, I wont be devestated is what im saying (like I would be if we traded Posada).
  18. They arent all smaller, though some are. In Japan, the home team provides the balls and canb mak ethem how they want (im sure there is limits, like a minimum and maximum size and whatnot). but yea, that 98 will likely translate to a 92-94 or so over here.
  19. yup...just a little
  20. absolutely, Chicago, after a horriffic second half, turned it UP in the playoffs. Without a doubt the best team in the dance still.
  21. ys, I love how the title of the thread is "Ex-Yankee" rather than "Mets Pitcher". Thats like me saying "Ex-Red Sox Jose Canseco is the biggest steroid user of all"........and yes, I know, he DID play for US as well. but still, im sure that Cashman KNEW he used steroids when he claimed him off waivers back in August 2003. But then again, though unlikely, there is no proof that Heredia used while he was a Yankee. ----------- Now I meant to come on and comment on this last night but ive been so exhausted with school and everything I havent had a chance to get online in a few days. This is pretty dissapointing because I happen to like Heredia a lot (im probably the only person on the face of the earth that has ever said that) and was ECSTATIC when we got him back in '03. Was sad to see him go as I thought he had the potential to turn it around, but didnt mind as much considering we were getting Stanny back in return (look how well that one went). But I guess he is just never going to be able to pitch again, might as well retire or go to Japan.
  22. Really no surprise here. Good luck to Joe and the Marlins. I think he'll be a pretty good fit there.
  23. well my friend, you are an amazing human being, because I know that if someone close to me died I could not go out on the field and play at my best. Its only natural to have emotions flowing. and BTW, on the Clemens thing, he really didnt pitch that great the day his mom died. So if you are going to get on A-Rod then get on Roger too. And also, like redRuffing said, Alex didnt use that as an excuse, his mom did.
  24. wpaa...calm down there pal. Everybody handles things differently. I think that is pretty cold what you just said. Thats like if your mom dies and you go to work and you arent very productive at work and a co-worker says "get over it, jack's brother died and he met his deadline" or some s*** like that. It's insensitive.
