  1. This is really David Carr's season to prove himself. The O-line is improved, but a good amount of the hits Carr took last year were his own fault. Hopefully he has figured out that it is preferred to throw the ball away than to take the sack.
  2. Hey National Football League, You have better be prepared for the HOUSTON TEXANS! Weeeeeeew! This is the year of David Carr proving himself, the defense getting back on track and some more wins. P.S. See you in Week 15, Patriots. http://www.chron.com/content/news/photos/02/09/08/texans/photo8.jpg
  3. The answer to your question, gosox920, is yes. And even if the Yankees find a way into the playoffs, A-Rod will blow it for New York.
  4. I guess I will also add: I think the Sox call up Corky Miller (they don't have much of a choice), but I don't want to see this no name guy for more than one or two games. EDIT: Sorry, yeah, I understand what you are saying. How experienced is Cora at catcher, by the way?
  5. Yeah, you just need a backup catcher to Mirabelli. The problem is, we don't really have major league ready catchers at Portland or Pawtucket. I think there is no way we can call Corky Miller up. We would see the same results that we saw when Shoppach was called up last year (I don't think he got a hit). Pretty much, Miller and the other two catchers for the PawSox can't hit. It's too bad Mark Wagner is at Greenville.
  6. It just baffles me that no one intentionally walkes Ortiz in those situations. I realize that Manny is in the four spot, but it is a no-brainer to put Papi on.
  7. Another thing: I was wearing my shirt today and dripped ice cream on the talking bubble with the Red Sox logo on the front and it came right off. That is another good thing about the shirt (although, you have to miss the rest of the shirt).
  8. I didn't even here the call from Orsillo, I was yelling so loud. WOW!
  9. Got mine as well. Thank you very much SFOC. I will do my best to get on television with the shirt, yeszir.
  10. Another year not opening the season at home. Another thing: Four west coast trips? Wow! Thanks for posting, riverside.
  11. Game over. Damn. Typical Texas Rangers baseball.
  12. Well, he is warming. And although I bash him what seems like quite a bit, this one is over now. Bring out the brooms.
  13. Giambi was 0-12 prior to that hit in the series.
  14. I told you guys. It's ridiculous.
  15. Here we go again with Ranger pitching.
  16. Damnit, top of the order.
  17. Howdy Damnit!
  18. QUESTION: Let's say you are watching the game MLB.TV. Do you get all the pre-game and post-game offered on NESN, for example? Or do you just get the game and that's it like on Extra Innings?
  19. Bases loaded, no one out. Remember, though: Let's say the Yankees give up only one more run and are down two going into the 9th. With the Ranger pitchers talent, New York could win by three.
  20. Men on 1st and 3rd, tied at 6 and no outs for the Rangers in the 8th. C'mon, Rangers! This series is the only time I root for you! EDIT: SINGLE! Rangers on top!
  21. Was Rivera not available tonight? The Rangers announcers aren't sure of anything. Don't get too down, AlexanderTheGreat13: The Rangers will always find a way to blow a game (see eight run lead turn into loss earlier this year at the Stadium).
  22. It always has. In general the Rangers have always sucked. P.S. Nice hussle in the outfield, Damon. Too bad that was a ground rule double. With Damon's arm, it would have easily been 6-5.
  23. I don't know if this has been talked about at all, whether it be on the NESN postgame, WEEI or on here, but I thought it was worth bringing up. In the 7th inning with a men on 1st and 3rd, down 5-1, why was Doug Mirabelli still hitting? The guy had already struck out twice on the day against Haren. Is it just because Francona wanted Varitek to have the entire day off? Or maybe V-tek has bad numbers against Haren. I was just wondering if anyone else was wondering the same thing, now that we're about to be only 1.5 up.
  24. I really just don't see how anyone could be picked over Ted Williams. Williams was a 17-time All-Star, 5-time ML Player of the Year, 2-time AL MVP and won the Triple Crown twice, as well. Not to mention hitting 521 HRs and having a career .344 average. Let us not forget that Williams is the last player to hit over .400 in a season (.406 in 1941).
