  1. Wow, strike to ball ratio: 4 to 11
  2. I didn't feel like starting a new topic, so I just thought I would post my question here. I saw on ESPN that since Joe Torre's reign as Yankees manager began in 1996, the Angels are the only team to have a winning record against New York. Does anyone happen to know what Boston's record is against the Yanks since this time?
  3. As far out in the standings as the Yankees are, I would still really would like to see us take two of three (or sweep). As poorly as we played against New York last year, I think it is important to take this years season series. At least for more bragging rights.
  4. *YAWN* So does this mean that the Yankees will now finish three games back of the Sox instead of five or six?
  5. Nevermind. MLB TV is working now! LET'S GO SOX!
  6. Is MLB TV not working for anyone else? I've only had MLB Extra Innings before, and I know you had to wait until about five minutes before first pitch for it to start showing the pre-game stuff.
  7. Since this goes along with the topic: Is today's (Wednesday) game on 850 or 680 AM? The Boston Globe's website says WRKO, but RedSox.com says 'EEI. I remember reading something about WEEI carrying the Wednesday games for whatever reason, so I assume RedSox.com is right.
  8. Finally! GO SOX! Let's get off to the right start! Forget the Yankees, though. This is our year. You've got Matsui... we've got Matsuzaka. BRING IT ON!
  9. Just FYI: For all of you who can't get enough of the Sox, David Ortiz will be on Jim Rome is Burning at 4:30ET on ESPN tomorrow.
  10. From the Herald's website this morning:
  11. I am glad that "Gammons' Red Sox lovefest" did point out that the Dodgers are only better than the Sox in spring training, though. Clearly, it would be hysterical to compare the Dodgers to THE Boston Red Sox. I mean, you've won ONE playoff game in the last 17 years, and the last time you won a playoff series was this... http://mlb.mlb.com/images/2002/07/25/UgseACnV.jpg
  12. First off, I was making the point that the Dodgers have accomplished nothing as far as having success in the playoffs, or even making the playoffs. In comparison, since 1990, Boston has been to the playoffs EIGHT times (including one World Series championship and four trips to the ALCS) while L.A. has been four times, never making it past the ALDS once (and being swept in three of those four) As far as the Dodgers/Angels comparison goes: Dodgers v. Angels over the past five years -- Angels: 2002 -- World Champions 2003 -- 3rd AL West 2004 -- 1st in AL West 2005 -- 1st in AL West 2006 -- 2nd in AL West Dodgers: 2002 -- 3rd in AL West 2003 -- 2nd in AL West 2004 -- 1st in AL West 2005 -- 4th in AL West 2006 -- T-1st in AL West (swept in NLDS) Go ahead and make your argument that you a better team than the Angels right now. I will follow up your argument by reminding you Grady Little is your manager.
  13. I guess when you haven't won anything since the 1988 season (and nothing before that since '81) you get excited about winning a spring training game. Sox fans, what we need to do is just ignore this poster. He/she clearly does not realize that the Dodgers are not even the best team with 'Los Angeles' in its name. You seem to be about as worthless as the city of Los Angeles itself. Maybe I am being too harsh though -- I am not sure how my mind would function with such a large concentration of pollution surrounding me at all times. "I love Los Angeles in the fall -- watching the birds change color and fall from the trees. "
  14. I thought we would be able to watch the entire game on MLB.tv. I don't understand why they are not showing the entire game with the NESN feed.
  15. You could never understand having passion for a baseball team. You'll jump off the bandwagon midway through the season, anyway.
  16. 1. Happy holidays! 2. Luby's.
  17. Jeter plays a good SS?
  18. I'll ttt this thread in three years and we'll see how things are going. I'll take six wins at least this year.
  19. What? WNBA? Did the Connecticut Huskies win?
  20. Way to go Ohio State! Wooooo!
  21. I am probably a bit biased, but honestly I find it hard to believe they will lose to Kansas. If A&M loses to KU this year, it would be an absolute heartbreak. Despite this not being true record wise over the last few years, Kyle Field is still one of the toughest places in football to play at. I would go with 10-2 right now with losses against Oklahoma and at texas. texas tech will be a very tough game, but I think the Aggies pull it out. We'll have to see. I could be way off. It all depends on how our QB Stephen McGee plays. He only has two career starts at the college level now (although he has shown plenty of signs of greatness to come).
  22. After reading this, I have no idea how you can criticize ANYTHING I say. Plus: A.) I will still take Beckett over Sanchez over the next ten years. B.) Why are you criticizing Lowell? A-Rod is the worst fielding 3rd baseman in baseball.
  23. I'm not even going to read anything after the first post, because I know no one else on here consistantly watches the Texans. First off: Turn off ESPN. The national media is a piece of s*** when it comes to covering the Texans. Contrary to popular belief, the Texans are relatively deep at running back. Wali Lundy and Vernand Morency were spectacular this preseason. I am confident with either back starting. Houston fans knew that Davis was going to miss a lot of the season before we heard the news he would be out for the year. So no, the Texans don't feel stupid at all. The Saints can shell out all that money and keep Reggie Bush. Instead of drafting him, we improved the O-line and defense quite a bit. We're headed in the right direction.
  24. Welcome.
  25. 1-0, baby! http://media.scout.com/Media/Image/35/351942.jpg Also, what a game tonight between Miami and FSU. Looks like there will be some fantastic games this coming week, as well.
