  1. Youk sucks because he is a base clogger? Dear God. Glad I wasn't online last night to read that (and I don't feel like finding the thread, either). C'mon Hinske.
  2. You're confusing me, Crespo. I will assume, though that you are trying to act like everyone else on here and find something to complain about, haha. Good stuff.
  3. You're right, he won't come around to score.
  4. Down 0-2 in the count, Youk ends up drawing a walk. What a hitter this guy is.
  5. Good eye, Lugo. Julio draws a walk on a 3-2 count to lead off the bottom of the first.
  6. I am speechless. Wow. This team is playing so bad right now, it is unbelievable.
  7. We're 20-23 since June 1st. Our once 14 game lead has been cut in half very quickly. As Sox fans, I believe we have every right to get pissed off and panic a bit with the way this team is playing. It's unacceptable.
  8. Countdown to getting this sick taste (Sox get blown out, Yanks win; lead down to 8 games) out of our mouths: 19 hours and 45 minutes. If we lose tomorrow... God... let's just win. Please.
  9. Wilbon, Herbstreit and Keyshawn all voted for Brady. I'm not really a fan of ESPN, but I think this whole "WHO'S NOW" thing can be interesting. There are some good matchups on there.
  10. Throughout July, "SportsCenter" will air "Who's Now," a daily series in which viewers will help ESPN determine the ultimate sports star by considering both on-field success and off-field buzz. Based on fan nominations, ESPN Research selected 32 finalists to square off in a single-elimination bracket. The winner of each matchup will advance based upon fan voting (70 percent) and ESPN's three-person panel (30 percent). In the first round, the panel consists of Michael Wilbon, Kirk Herbstreit and Keyshawn Johnson. Today on SportsCenter, they highlighted the 1 seed Tom Brady against the 8 seed David Ortiz. Very interesting matchup. Thoughts anyone? http://www.ericwebster.net/images/archives/Tom_Brady-David_Ortiz.jpg
  11. Game ovah. American League continues its dominance. "Thanks for the home field advantage in the World Series boys." Love, the Boston Red Sox
  12. My God! Teriffic play by Cora, lunging to get that one!
  13. Great play by Hinske. Let's get out of the jam, now!
  14. Wow, did that not hit the outside corner?
  15. The first thing I thought of when Young came to the plate was his game winning hit in last year's All-Star game. Damn, I love watching Papelbon close games out. His intensity really gets you fired up when you get that final out.
  16. He has SEVENTY-NINE RBI's and we are still something like 10 days away from the All-Star break. Surely the Yankees wouldn't let A-Rod go.
  17. *YAWN* I have no idea what you just said (Maybe add a period or two). I do appreciate the comparison with Francona (we are both 'JACKASSES' -- in all caps), though. Being compared with such a brilliant manager is an honor.
  18. I tend to disagree a bit with Tito bringing in Cora in the 11th. I know Lugo's AB in the 8th was aweful (from a 3-0 count with runners on first and second to a strikeout), but you HAVE to stick with him. We have a double digit lead in the standings and we have Lugo signed to a 4 year deal ($36M). It's a tough decision, though. That's why I am not manager. I still also say that Lugo had some good at bat's yesterday (got on base twice), and I would have left him in even in the 11th. I really thought he was going to break out of that streak.
  19. Wait, so 100% of the reason the reason the Sox have such a big lead is because of the Yankees play? You're clearly not the smartest poster on the board, are you? This may be news to you, but WE HAVE THE BEST RECORD IN BASEBALL. Our 11 game lead is not entirely because the Yanks have sucked; we have played great, as well. Honestly, how the hell can you criticize Francona? I mean, in his fourth year as Sox manager, all he has done is brought home the first World Championship in 86 years, took us to the playoffs the following year, and after a woeful year in '06, has us poised for our first American League East Championship since 1995. Yeah, he has made some mistakes, but get off his back. Quit whining every time we lose a series.
  20. Sorry, I have to go against the grain. He is one of the main reasons we are where we are (48-29, 11 games up on the Yankees). Why didn't you post this after we took two of three in San Deigo, scaffolds? I like reading your posts, riverside, but that is a horrible argument. Lugo has three pretty good at bats prior to his 8th inning AB. He hit the ball to the warning track, I believe in the 2nd, walked during a ten pitch at bat in the 5th (he was down 1-2 and fouled off several pitches before working the walk) and reached on a sac bunt.
  21. IT'S UP TO LUGO. C'MON JULIO! http://www.julioschips.com/images/chips.jpg
