  1. you officially made my s*** list. how is the man overrated? http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/teams/bos/stat...ified=0&sort=22 look at his numbers from 03. not to mention the guys is solid defensively and destroys righties. john
  2. where are you getting these absurd numbers??? pedro wants more than 2/3 years... if you're going to do 2/3 years you better be ready to pay upwards of 14+ mill a year. 12 mill a year is a joke. he made over 16 mill this year buddy. v-tek getting 9 mill for 2-3 years?? are you STUPID? do you watch the sox play or not.. can't you tell he's declining. 9 mill a year for 3 years to tek. talk about giving into bora$$, def a bad move when shoppach is on his way up. oc for 8-9 mill a year is possible, but there will be a lot of teams going after him, at least 6 teams are in need of a GG ss with a good bat. let scott willy go? if the man can prove that his arm is back he is a def sign. the man was lights out in 03. pavano for 5-6 mill a year for TWO years? yeah, if we someone promissed him sex from any girl he wanted anytime anyday anywhere.... pavano will sign for no less than 7-8 mill a year for 4 years. lets be realistic, if what you said happened that would be great, but the sox don't own baseball. we don't get everything we want. not at those prices. john
  3. what????? trot is far from finished.. my god.. i am so upset at you. john
  4. koch is washed up. he was great when he could throw 100 mph but he has no control. no control - 10 mph from his main pitch = great loss of effectiveness. john
  5. we are stupid if we offer pedro more than 4 years (i'm sorry petey, you are my fav but the team comes first) and we are stupid if we offer tek more than 2 years at the price he's asking... we all can see how tek is declining offensively, if you watch him play you'll notice the decreased bat speed and compiling hitting against poor pitching. that's it for now, gf is bitching.. john
  6. how about that guy bill simmons... he's a friggan huge sox fan. john
  7. i did. it was overrated imo.. i saw the players for a total of 2 minutes.. it was worth it though. my gf got to see damon (she thinks he's so cute). i got to see my homeboy pedro, it was great. he was waving and thrusting his hips, hilarious. manny was holding a f*** the curse sign and a sign showing babe screwing a donkey from behind, pretty funny. a lot of people were there. i wore my 2004 world series hat, i'll probably never wear it again unless it's a world series. can't wait to get my pink new era hat (YES, i said pink) i wear that when i play paintball. john
  8. it's some bs rumor. john
  9. he he, the parade is basically driving right by my house. i live at 234 comm ave, basically 1 st away from the pru on boylston which the parade is going down. nothing like a 10 second walk out your backdoor :-D john
  10. beltre and ordonez would be bad signs. where would be put nixon, or manny, or damon? if we got ordonez. betre would be stupid, we don't need more offence, pitching wins. didn't the yankees teach you that allready? sign pedro, sign pavano, sign milton. we don't need more offence. john
  11. game 1 tickets are on sale allready?? john
  12. i don't really know when i officially became a red sox fan. i went to my first game in 1990, the year the sox made it to the alcs and was swept by the a's. i can't say i really remember that at all. i just remember the game that i went to and sitting behind one of those massive pillars totally blocking my view. as time went on i watched games on tv by myself (no father figure in the house), i never really followed the sox, ie fantasy baseball, looking up stats, reading espn. i was always too young. i just watched the games that were broadcasted on tv. even in high school i kept the same tradition of watching a few games here and there. before college i think i only attended a total of 6 or 7 sox games. i come from a pretty poor family, only person that had interest in the sox was my uncle and he took me to all my games. sr. year in high school i was a bit more into the internet scene, freshman year college was when it really sank in. i was playing fantasy baseball everyday, same went for sophmore year and this year i was so into the sox i didn't have time to play my fantasy team. so yeah, i'm not sure how long i've been a fan, i just know that it felt great. it felt like i was waiting a long time. to some people they would consider me a 14 year vet, to others i'm a one year bandwagon, however percieve it. john
  13. no god damn doubt about it. john p.s.- hopefully my homeboy pedro will start :-D
  14. i won't tell on you. john
  15. seriuosly, unless you plan on helping us out you should shut up. cus i'm getting wicked jealous and getting to the verge of finding you and taking them. :-D john
  16. pedro game 3 world series: 7 IP 3H ZERO ER 6 K's 2BB so much for pedro only lasting 6 innings :-/. don't doubt the man. unless pedro wants more than 14 mill a year he's a MUST sign. lowe is a boston boy, but seriously, if he didn't take 2 years 27 mill i don't know what he'll take.. he won't be offered that again, anymore than 6-7 mill a year for lowe is too much. john
  17. i want a copy i'll pay for dvd, shipping, and your time. john
  18. shutup, we don't need you to tell us how to look at our team. lowe is an up and down guy. he has great ups and great down. he's inconsistent and just happened to pitch well during the ws. look at bellhorn, same thing, super inconsistent, then all of a sudden he's crushing the ball. john p.s.- your ps is lame, considering you've probably only been alive for a few of the ws.
  19. there was clearly not MOST VALUABLE PLAYER on this ws winning team. everyone was a contributer. this was one of the best team winning efforts. i'm so happy. i was so happy last night i couldn't talk or post here. john
  20. the sox were the best team in the majors this season. i want a total stomping of the team with the best record in the majors to prove it once and for all. john
  21. i really can't see the the cardinals not winning a single game.. i just can't see it. but i can also see the sox taking them tonight. so i don't know.. emotions are mixed. i'll just have to watch. john
  22. i honestly can't see anyone starting on opening day other than pedro. he's been the man for so many years. last nights game definately ranks in my top 15 games ever. seeing my favorite pitcher getting the big W in the series against such a good offence was great. He didn't have the heat he had back in the day but he had control, movement, it was awsome. i hope he comes back next year. as long as he's not asking for over 14 mill a year i think it's a no brainer to resign pedro. john
  23. what a game by pistol petey. my all time fav. pitcher finally gets a big W and dominated in the post season. john
  24. i don't think pedro is the type of pitcher that lets pressure get to him. if he pitches poorly it's simply because he pitches poorly, not because of the pressure. i think pitching in st lous will be an advantage for pedro. he's a fastball pitcher with an occasional curveball. the big bats of the cards are all fastball hitters, fastball + good contact = home run. bigger park = less chance of home runs. i want to see pedro get that win tomorrow. john
  25. firstly) the yankees most definately do not suck, they only had the 2nd best record in the majors this season. secondly) there is no curse, curses are lame, just a poor excuse for a team that loses. thirdly) seattle also had RJ and Griffey when they had a-rod. texas was bad because his salary took up all of their payroll, not to mention chan ho park. john
