  1. by plenty you mean pavano, radke, o.perez, clemens and wells. the last 2 we probably have no chance at. john
  2. for a pitcher who has 2 years at his level left? yes it is imo. arroyo can only get better, johnson can only get worse. i thought it was the yankees who were trying to build the over 40's rotation and not the sox :-D john
  3. are you guys kidding me? vazques was good up to the all star break, he didn't make the ast for no reason.. vazquez can still be good, imo, losing such a young pitcher for johnson is not worth it. especially when his salaray is 20 + mill. john
  4. the red sox would NEVER sign anyone for the purpose of DH. they have the BEST DH in the league. it's like the giants signing someone to play left field. john
  5. i DO NOT want johnson, giving up way too much go get a 2 year pitcher is not worth it. john
  6. what are you talking about, YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS the yankees are giving up their future ace for a 2 year pitcher. HA HA HA HA HA johnson is going to cost them 21 mil, vazquez, duncan and a yet to be named piece. that is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO awsome. please let this happen. john
  7. it's funny, you bash pedro like there is no tomorrow but i have yet to see you say ANYTHING about tek. you know, tek and that 5 year 50 mill deal he's seeking. oh yeah, he wants a NO TRADE CLAUSE too. god forbid a 3 time cy young pitcher that has a career era of 2.72 ask for more than 2 years. john p.s.- i see the sox matching 3 years with a 4th year club option.
  8. that would never happen the red sox are looking to cut payroll to under the limite so they don't have to pay a 30% luxury tax, in 2004 they paid 22.8 i believe. you save 1.5 mill from the zito nixon trade, but you spend about 6 mill more from the lowe to pavano. if we keep pedro for 13 we save 4. in the end we're still spending 2 mill more on pitching. i'm not sure that's the direction of the club. it would be great, but that means a stopgap instead of oc or rent and no tek. personally i would take: petey, schill, zito, pavano, arroyo and no (awsome ss) and tek over schill, (insert free agent), arroyo, wakefield, kim with (awsome ss) and tek. john
  9. don't take anything you read seriously unless it's from espn.com and cleary stated that it's true. john
  10. if i was stern i would have made a ron artest award, given every year to the player that beats the crap out of an annoying fan. john
  11. Stats provided by http://yankeessuck.com/ Derek Jeter batting: .292 A-Rod batting: .286 Kevin Brown: 1 padded glove enough said. OMG a-rod only hit .286?? he bats at yankee stadium, if he batted at fenway he probably would have battend .295. don't forget he also hit 36 hr at yankee stadium, at fenway he probably would have hit 50+, he also batted in over 109 for the 7th or so time in his career. jeter went from batting .240 to .292, nuff said. he also had 23 hr and 99 rbi. many of the games he played he lead off. brown had probably one of the worse era's in his LONG career. he was just a mess this year. in conclusion, no that isn't enough said dude. i don't like a-rod after that slap move, but i have no reason really to hate jeter or brown for who they are, especially because i have never met them in person. they have talent, admit it. you would take a 2.39 era kevin brown on your rotation, you would take a-rod over mueller at 3rd anytime anyday anywhere, you would take jeter as your ss over most of the shortstops that have ever played on the sox. don't get me wrong, i'm a die hard sox fan, but if you're going to bash the yankees use something good, not something lame like "they have no talent". jeter will probably go down as one of the best baseball captains ever, a-rod could very well go down as the best player to ever live and brown could make the hof as a pitcher. john
  12. not to mention the fact that japanese girls have an infatuation for people from other countries.. john
  13. that signature of yours doesn't make sense.. since when does kb, a-rod, and jeter not have talent? john
  14. why do people take the paper so seriously? the only thing i trust is direct info from espn, not random junk. john
  15. this was expected.. how do you think the yankees afford such a high payroll.. tickets! we need to get rid of landsdown st, there isn't anything important on that st anyways. couple bars couple clubs... i'de rather more fenway park than those things.. john
  16. you guys are such squids... it's clearly beltran the one that wants more money. he PAYS boras to get him the most money possible..... if he wanted someone that could get him good money i could have done the job.. john
  17. correction calvn, we don't have enough prospects we are willing to offer him. john
  18. d lowe- anyone can win behind this red sox offence. pedro- everyone needs to stop hating, if you were in his position you would do the same exact thing to get every penny possible. the guy has like 80 girlfriends to feed dude! anytime you lose one of the big 3 you will miss them. the only one i'm really sold on is hudson. we've seen how zito and mulder can pitch themselfs off this planet.. it's scary. john
  19. the reason you don't hear those things about tek in the paper is because tek doesn't say those things because there is nothing bad about him in the papers for him to respond to. deuches like dan shanshitty writes tons of crap about pedro, he responds. if anything about sports players you should not take seriously is what they say. the cleveland cavs learned their lesson with carlos boozer. the point is that pedro is doing what it takes to get the sox to sign him for a LONGER contract. length of contract > amount of contract in pedro's case. 2 years 27.5 mill john
  20. i would not give tek more than 3 years with a 4th year club option, PERIOD. as for lowe, yeah he pitched well, but also recall that it was against the yankees who were absolutely dead in the water, they couldn't hit the broad side of a beach ball. then he shut down the cards, who did NOTHING offensively after game 1. don't let his post season success fool you, lowe is not worth the 3 years 27 mill that he rejected. he's not worth more than 6 or 7 mill a year. john
  21. you guys seriously SUCK. how can you call pedro a greedy bastard when god damn tek is asking for 5 years 55 with a no trade clause. FOR AN AGING CATCHER. at least with pedro you know he'll only be 36 and still give you at least a mid 3 era or better. he's greedy, but so is every mlb player, all the good ones at least. he's doing what's best for him. you would do the same. like i have said OVER and OVER again. it's not about SCHILLING, it's about PEDRO. he's getting old, he wants to stay with the sox and he wants to get the longest contract available. the sox gave him a 2 year contract and he wants more, the only way to do that is to play the free agent game. if you hate him for that, then go hate baseball and find tek and punch him in the face. if the yanks didn't have posada and pitching was their priority they would talk to tek immediately. john
  22. it's absolutely rediculous: if manny put that much effor into playing the OF he'd be a gold glover and if millar put that much effor into defence he'd also be a gold glover. john
  23. http://www.baseball.com for some reason i registered there but i can't post and/or some s***.. john
  24. we do? maybe, at 6-7 per.. not 9.. john
  25. that's tough... john
