    Trot probably wasn’t moved because his trade value, even before the injury, was next to zero.

    In Theo’s press conference he said that WMP would be the player to assume most of Trot’s playing time.

    Nothing is in the pipeline. Theo gave his pres conference and made no mention of anything pending.

    I never understood how that worked out either. Johnson was out of options as far as I could tell, but still he was able to be sent down to Pawtucket without clearing waivers.

    He does regret that he wasn’t able to help the team this year by making any kind of significant moves during the trading period.

    Now I really feel like we’ve hit rock bottom where we’re defending Seanez’s usefulness. I do agree with you however.

    I wasn’t realistically expecting any kind of trade that would bring a SP, but I was hoping for a decent arm for the pen.

    Rob Bradford on WEEI said that offer was turned down by the Sox (duh) but some other offshoot of the deal involving Hansen and Crisp could still be in the works.

    Listening to WEEI and there's a lot of mention about Hansen now being involved and used as a trading chip. Any word on rumors that he's part of a deal?

    Two articles in the Globe (Edes and Cafardo) suggest more and more it looks like the multi team deal involves Boston, Tampa Bay, and San Diego. In the end the Sox give up Lowell and prospects, and end up with Scott Linebrink and Julio Lugo.

    Not that it was any big secret, but thanks to ESPN the Sox have basically exposed all of their flaws tonight on nationwide TV. That doesn’t help their bargaining position in any kind of deal.
