  1. Coco's having a good night...3 hits.
  2. Talk about Gonzo being Gonzo. Beautiful DP.
  3. DP please... Edit: Thank U Hansen.
  4. Snyder nowhere near as sharp as he was Monday. As a former starter you’d think he might need more than 3 days between appearances. edit
  5. His power numbers are good over the past 30 days.
  6. Jeezus, is Snyder ready yet?
  7. Oh no. The gopher has returned.
  8. I thought it was interesting the comment Remy made about the middle infielders with cut off man responsibilities. They’ve been instructed (by Tito) to range deeper into the outfield to shorten up throws from Coco. Thereby relying more on the infielders’ arm strength for the more accurate plays.
  9. I wonder if part of his decision to sign with the Sox long-term has anything to do with Fenway not being a HR friendly park.
  10. They're showing ESPN News on ESPN2 here in Cow Hampshire. Sometimes they do that when a game is blacked out.
  11. Huckaby and Youk knock in runs...Nice.
  12. 5 pitch 2nd inning for Beckett.
  13. Yay the Sox have an early lead a la Man Ram.
  14. I’ve noticed the Sox haven’t made an official announcement concerning Javy Lopez yet. No doubt they’ve held back in deference to Huckaby’s start tonight. Nice of Tito to put him in the lineup so his brief trip to Boston wasn’t spent completely sitting on the bench.
  15. You’re probably right. If not Abe, some other low level prospect.
  16. Francona did suffer from a pulmonary embolism back in 2002. There was also another scare early last season where he was rushed to a hospital in New York via helicopter from Yankee Stadium. It was assumed that it was related to the previous embolism. I’ve also heard him mention in interviews that he takes blood thinners for the condition. I do have to agree with the other posters. This is really a ******** thread.
  17. Announced on WEEI that it’s a done deal…the Sox have acquired Lopez. No word yet on the terms and who they might have given up for prospects.
  18. The CWS could go after Lopez as their backup catcher is Sandy Alomar who I think is pushing 40 years old. Another point to consider about acquiring Lopez is that in September, when Tek will likely return, the rosters will be expanding. Lopez could also serve as backup at 1B as the Sox have little depth in that position.
  19. McAdam on EEI today confirmed that as of 2PM today the Sox could claim Lopez. The only roadblock might be a team like the Twins or CWS who are behind the Sox in the AL standings.
  20. Just Gonzo being Gonzo…It was another great heads up play that you’ve almost come to expect from him. FWIW, it made the #4 play of the day on Sports Center Top 10 Plays.
  21. The Yankees are percentage points ahead of the Sox in the AL standings as of now. Therefore the Sox would be ahead of them in their ability to put in a claim if they did this later today (Thursday).
  22. It looks like the Sox are seriously looking into getting Javy Lopez from the O’s. The upside it doesn’t appear that it will be more than absorbing his contract from this year.
  23. The chances of him clearing waivers and making it back to the Sox are slim to none.
