  1. OK. GOT IT. THIS SHOULD BE AN EASY ONE. GO SOX!!@!
  2. There was a time when someone could have said to me "I don't watch ESPN" and I would have thought they were gay or not into sports. Not anymore. I think most real sports fans detest ESPN nowadays. Outside the Lines and the Sports Reporters are the only shows I can watch on that s***** network. Forget the actual games, I can't even watch Baseball Tonight anymore because it sucks so bad..
  3. The knock on Lester this year is that he's not pounding the strike zone and he's at 100 pitches in the 5th inning. I would argue that that is basically what we get out of Tavarez right now, so why not bring the guy up? As for Buehrle, I would also make the case that because he IS signed long term, he is much more attractive in a trade situation. Teams didn't go after him so hard because they were afraid he'd walk after the season. The more I think about what the Sox need, I think a trade for Griffey would be the way to go. You could give Ortiz a day or two off when needed. Manny could DH more and we wouldn't have to rely on Drew or Pena so much. And it's short money. It would be nice to get more pitching, obviously, but we're only 6 weeks away from the Sept call ups now. So Lester and Buckholz will be here soon enough.
  4. Well, I don't want to say I called it, but I called it. Snyder starts the 5th. Good call.
  5. Considering the AS break and Tavarez's tendency to get lit up after 3 or 4 innings, I'd have Snyder warming up by the end of the fourth. The Jay lineup can do some damage in a hurry.
  6. Why would Arod care where the World Series is played this year? It's the same view for him no matter where it's at.
  7. Nice slide there Ahole.
  8. Oh great - they do have gay intros this year. Really need those amazing fireworks, red carpet and stupid music. This is getting harder to watch each year.
  9. I'd rather watch a D-Rays/Royals or Rangers/Yankees game. At least they don't have them running through a hoop this year on the intros.
  10. That is a head scratcher. You two are roughly the same age so I assume you both saw the same Nomar years. And until the off season of 2003 and the contract talks/injury, he was the Golden Boy. He's was Ted's disciple. Christ, Sox fans sang Happy Birthday to him on his birthday. Outside of being ROY, he was top 11 in the MVP voting 6 of the 9 years he was with the Sox (11, 9, 8, 7, 7, 2) with 2 other years lost to injury. He was a 5 time All Star at SS during the same period Jeter and Arod were both SS too. When he and the media finally fell out and guys like Buckley (he was the worst of them all) basically painted him black, that's when you started hearing fans badmouth him. And that was only 6 months before he was shipped out. So if Thumper has been watching the Sox for 18 years, I don't understand his take on Nomar. :dunno:
  11. I just look at it like it's a 3-0 game right now. There's plenty of time in this one if Dice K can settle down for a couple more innings.
  12. 4 weeks TO THE DAY. Amazing.
  13. Again. GREAT GAME (so far).
  14. That's why he's an All Star, Detroit. Nice. I smell a win.
  15. ... so Jones is done for the rest of the series. That's good for tomorrow.
  16. As we go to extra innings, I LOVE THIS. Great game so far. Great game!!!! This is fun - good old fashion Baseball! Woohoo!
  17. If we had a glove or some legs in left field, that double would have been caught.
  18. You gotta like what you're seeing from Gabbard. Last start he went 4+ innings without allowing a hit. Tonight he's gone 4 and allowed only 1 hit - and against the Tigers. I'm not saying he's the second coming of RJ, but he's not "garbage" either.
  19. I think it was ORS that said the JT era was over. Just saying it's not... yet. And 700, you bitch about the front office so much it's hard to take you seriously anymore. I'm waiting for you to blame Theo and the FO for global warming and the war in Iraq.
  20. Damn, hadn't seen that. Well, I may be the only one not worried. Gabbard has been hit or total miss so far. He had a no hitter into the 5th his last start, then the wheels fell off. I still don't understand the Lester situation. He's healthy enough to pitch, but not MLB ready with his mechanics? He's a body, isn't he? I'd bring up Lester before blowing my wad on Buehrle. And as much as I hate it, JT is going to continue to start at least until the trade deadline/Schill return.
