  1. I can't figure out the strike zone tonight at all.
  2. I agree. I'd throw Byrd or Wake. Make that Wake just because.
  3. Good points, and I like Lowe. But yeah, he's no more than a good #3 in the AL East. Basically, if you're in the NL West and don't dominate - which the guy doesn't do on a regular basis - you're not going to be that good in the AL East. And he's getting old. I agree with Gom on this one. Plus, like I said, I like the guy so seeing him in NY would suck.
  4. Or maybe Pedroia's saving it all for the Rays. That would be nice too!
  5. I'm feeling pretty damn good about this team right now. I think the front office has played the media and everyone into thinking they're all banged up when it's not that bad. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Beckett came out Sunday and pitched a shutout. I'm still waiting for a Pedroia moment though. That would be a nice way to end this puppy.
  6. I got work tomorrow at 9am and a meeting at 9:30. I forgot to take a nap too. But I'll still be watching if it goes 15 innings tonight (if I don't pass out before then.) How can you not stay up for any Boston postseason game?? Plus, these comparison/team stats have me PUMPED. GO f***IN SOX!!!! :ortiz:
  7. so is it going to rain all night or what?
  8. She was probably all excited to go too.
  9. God the yankees suck. Dammit.
  10. pauley's so getting shafted here. haha. The team's basically saying, "Yeah, you're like 13-4, have been in the Majors before AND beaten the Yankees, but you suck and you know it and we know it and if we pitch you, everyone else will know it." I'd rather be seeing Bowden.
  11. Thank you. Someone needs to teach this punk Rdsxmbnt a lesson. GO SOX! SWEEEEEEEEEEEEP
  12. yeah, lets get a new gamethread up already. This is almost as good as Patriots day for me! Taking the day off, early game, Sox Yanks, nails, coffins, sweeps. This is fun!!!!!!!
  13. Francona going for the throat. I absof***in love it. It may blow up, but I love the mindset.
  14. - rotoworld I say he's fine by the playoffs.
  15. anyway... I don't mind seeing Halladay pitch great. I oddly sometimes enjoy it, like tonight. But damn, the home plate umpire sucked. Sox lefties had no chance when they gave him the 6 inch outside call all night long - hell, last pitch of the game was way outside. And maybe it was a wide strike zone for both teams, fine, but giving a guy like Halladay that much extra plate should be illegal. It sort of diminishes what I feel I just saw.
  16. It's been rescheduled for Sept 13 day/nighter. Hell, even the weather is helping the sox out these days! Now it's Byrd tomorrow and Beckett on Sunday which gives us a good chance to split then rejigger the rotation for the Sept games so it's not so one sided. Nice move, God.
  17. RSR stat of the minute. The Sox have scored 8 runs or more 22 times this year. 6 times in the last 13 games since Manny left.
  18. Hey, he didn't give up a run while he was here.
  19. What a great game. I love Baseball.
  20. I'm proud of the guys on this trip. 4-3, but they were in every game, could have won 2 of those losses anyway. I'm not saying they are a great team, but they are holding up after losing Manny. Take out TX next at Fenway! Let's go Zinky! Tomorrow night will be fun. I'm so psyched to see Zink play. He was my "adopt a prospect" guy a few years back. I feel like a dad.
  21. s***. f*** that. I just looked at VanEvery's stats. Three words: Mark f***ing Bellhorn. Dude strikes out every 3 times up. f*** that. I'm out. No way. Ellsbury stays put.
