I don't see how the woes could possibly continue. Think about it. 12 LOB last night, 18 a few weeks ago, its pathetic if you think about it. Our batters hit, and they showed that last year. Mueller, Manny, Millar, Ortiz. Those players alone are enough to win games. We don't need to be begging for Trot and Nomar to come back. They need to snap out of it and start hitting NOW. Manny needs to stop being friendly with the media and fans, and he needs to start hitting. I'd rather have a cold and reserved manny who occasionally doesnt run out ground balls but hits .350 with 130 RBI than the Manny we see today who has a website and talks to reporters. They better cheer me up during this game, thats all I can say.

The sox need to absolutely shell Davis. He's had an ERA for each of the last 3 years, consistently. He was in single A in 2002. Going from single A to the big leagues and facing the Red Sox in two years is a big jump. Hopefully he'll falter and we can win one finally. Don't forget, including this one, there are 3 games left in the series. We cans till take 3/4, a good series by any stretch of the imagination!

No captains whatsoever. It doesnt work in baseball. If a player wants to lead by example, I'm all for it. But forcing a person to be the leader, both on and off the field, is unfair to the players and to the fans. It also recognizes a player as the "best" or most well liked on a team, which is unfair to other players.

This team isnt that bad. We're going to snap out of the LOB suck at RISP funk. The question though, is when? Playing cleveland is the perfect time to do it, since they're a weak team. But no! We can only score one run!

First of all, welcome to the site. As far as manny's defferal, there's a thread on it, but I don't really see it as a selfless move. He wants to win, and realizes the team needs these players to win. He's still getting the money. He isnt reworking his contract so that he gets less money, its just over more time.

But the lack of hitting has been going on for a while. We havent scored a lot of runs all season. The double headers may play a role in this recent terribleness (new word), but the hitting just hasn't been happening.

I guess its a possibility. We'll consider it.

I've been worred for the past 7 games. We havent scored ANYTHING. We've had great pitching too, just NO run support. It's really starting to get on my nerves. I dont understand though. We have decent hitting. We should be getting 4-5 runs per game, but we arent. We're just dead. Its incomprehensible and inexcusable at the same time. How can a team start off so hot (but, even during the two sweeps we weren't hitting well at all, the other teams were just hitting worse), and then just die. Lose 4 in a row, 3 to texas and one to clevelend? Is that even possible? Something needs to happen FAST.

Odalis Perez would be an amazing pickup. I remember last year when he flat our shocked everyone (or was it two years ago) with his amazing stuff. And clement is a free agent too, you aren't wrong.

This really isnt as demanding as it seems. We just want to make it sound really formal. This site has grown to a point where we feel that we need two new moderators to keep things running smoothly. The positions wanted are: 1) A moderator to mod the general Red Sox forum, as well as the game thread forum 2) A moderator to mod General Baseball Talk, Rumor Mill, and Fights. The roles of both mods may be expanded in the future if we deem it necessary. A moderator must be able to: 1) Commit enough time to read through the posts in their specific forums and make sure that they are a) in the correct place and make sure that they follow forum guidelines. 2) Demonstrate knowledge and passion for the Red Sox and Baseball. 3) Contribute to the forums in their own way. 4) The moderator of the In Game Forum should start each topic a few hours prior to each game if it hasn?t already been done, and lock the previous night's topic when the next game starts So, those are the guidelines. In a PRIVATE MESSAGE to myself, please indicate that you'd like to "apply" for one of the positions, and indicate which one. Also include: 1) Location 2) Age 3) What other boards (if any) you post at, and your username(s) there 4) And basically, just say, in however much space, why you want to be a mod and promise that you'll contribute well to the forums. Other than that, its up to you for what you want to say. We'll make a decision in 3 days time, as we really have no idea how many people want a position.
