  1. Amen. He's the team's MVP really. And also, welcome to the site! Same to you jarjar if i had never said it before.
  2. Come on, we need to put some runs up on the board! I see what you mean ACL, we need hitting dammit!
  3. To be fair, I don't think Mirabelli counts for much. We all expected him to hit into the double play, and he doesnt play every day, so he cant be blamed. But I do see what you are saying. Our pitchers certainly arent tanking, and our offense is not producing nearly enough to win consistently. We need runs to win, and we arent getting them. Whether its because Trot and Nomar are gone, or some other reason, I don't know. Its ironic though, because its almost the completely opposite of last year, when we were all hitting, no pitching.
  4. Whats up with Dickey's "thing" pitch. I cant even explain what it does. Its a combination of WHAT pitches again? And how in the hell does he throw it without breaking his arm every time?
  5. Maybe a lot of older pitchers refuse to try new stuff. They dont want to mess with their stuff to the point where it is completely unrecognizeable from what got them to a specific point in their career. The list you typed was, for the most part, of younger players who had the room to learn. Veterans wont go develop a new pitch (well, Curt Schilling being the exception), unless they absolutely have to. Old habits die hard I guess.
  6. Scott Boras is the devil. Thats what he was thinking. In between torturing children and running old ladies over with a golf cart, he spat those numbers out of his head.
  7. Nomar's bat, without question.
  8. Thanks for posting that. Good job finding it. Damn you Sean Mcdonough!
  9. Its not chemistry in my mind. Its the fact that he's being a bitch. He has the nerve to call the owners liars, and wants to take down all of the other potential free agents by mentioning their names. He has no idea when to keep his mouth shut.
  10. With authority! The definitive answer.
  11. NESN is available in Hi-Def as well on one specific cable provider.
  12. It's ridiculous. No one will ever ever ever pitch to him. They dont even give him a chance.
  13. No! We resign nomar! We have to!!!!!
  14. What did he say on YEs during the offseason? I didn't catch it.
  15. I used to despise Orsillo. I was so used to McDonough, I thought he was great, and then Don came on and he seemed really annoying. It also seemed to me like he was pissing Remy off. But since then he's grown on me I guess you could say. He seems like hes gotten the hang of things, and I like them about equal now.
  16. What's going on with the sox. We win 6 in a row and we're headed to two defeats in one night. And one of them is a Pedro start!
  17. He's pitching tomorrow, or so I hear.
  18. Game of the double header is at 6:05 ET on NESN. Its a rematch of last night, with Arroyo going against Drese. Lets hope this one gets played.
  19. Also, last year our bullpen was shaky. The whole committee thing and blown games every other day. This year, our pen is one of our strongest aspects.
  20. I read that article in the globe this morning and got immensely pissed off. Just as fans are starting to come around to his pitching he comes out bitching. Shut up and quit worrying about "respect" (in other words, 2 or 3 extra millions).
  21. Lol, you were all waiting for it to go on! A bunch of optimists you are. Two double headers in a row. Crazy!
  22. Damn. So I guess no rain. And redsoxrooter, trust me when I say that the NESN filler sucked. It was all about the rock and the punisher, it was just aweful. I'd rather just sit and watch a rain delay screen, lol.
  23. I'd still rather have nomar, no matter how well we are playing now.
  24. Right, no one can say if this team is better than the teams of the 1910's. Those were some championship teams, and no one who saw them is alive now. I think its a bit too early to say anything, especially since we're missing two of our best hitters. Wait another month, and like TheFens, I'll get back to you. And also, like 67bleachers said, its impossible to measure teamwork/leadership and all of that stuff. It's all a matter of opinion really.
  25. Whoops, there's two threads on this one game. I'll merge mine into yours.
