  1. The yankees looked plain bad there. Wow. I'm shocked, yet happy at the same time. Contreras sucked the big one and errors/misshaps and bad play was abundant! The sox hammered the "bombers", knocking 'em down a peg or two. 4/5 is not a horrible way to start against your rival at all. Lenny Dinardo was also a pleasant surprise. I hadn't heard anything about that guy and he looks promising. That low arm angle and breaking pitches can be hell for left handed batters, as Matsui proved. I'm interested in seeing both him and Malaska progress.
  2. Hehe, you wrote humour. You speak THAT kind of english.
  3. After that first 1-2-3 inning, Contreras looks like he's beginning to fall apart.
  4. Hey, I might take some pics next time I'm at the park. It looks like a cool idea.
  5. Whoa, so many new people popping up. Welcome. I like your username.
  6. Oh right, you live in FL. I have a question then. Are fans down there more passionate now. Like, are they more into the team after last year, and do they talk about them more? Because I know baseball in Florida hasnt been big in past years, so I'm just wondering.
  7. Oh man, I hope Tek resigns. He's one of my favorite players on the team. It would be a shame to watch him go.
  8. I read somewhere that Contreras was trying to make an adjustment to his delivery in order to be prepared for the sox. It sounds like the yankees are a little worried with our team coming into town, and they have no confidence in contreras. Not that they should, seeing as he sucks and all, but just an interesting thing to point out. I say the sox destroy him tonight.
  9. Green monster (those pictures I took confirmed it)
  10. No one gave them any credit after they won it last yera, basically just writing them off to not do anything special. But as of now, they're 11-4 and playing extremely well. Plus, they kicked the phillies collectives asses in that brawl. I think this is a team that can do things.
  11. whoa, I just remembered; that was the first Blue Jay's victory at home. Its embarrasing that it had to come against the sox and schilling.
  12. Lol, I echo sinix. At least I'm not a huge Bruins fan. I wouldn't want to have to stomach a bad defeat like that. Man, that sucks.
  13. Doh! I hope that this negative momentum (losing like that late in the game in front of an empty sky dome is never good for morale) won't carry over to the yankee series. But as RSR just mentioned, it does save the bullpen for the yankees, giving us an advantage in my mind. Hopefully A-Rod doesnt pick now as the time to break out of his slump.
  14. He's certainly been pitching well. He may be the catalyst (scientific term there for ya) that cements the bullpen in place and leads us to a successful season. Is he still without an earned run? I've been away fpr quite some time and haven't really kept up.
  15. Whats on it? I have yet to see it. Not a huge fan of commercials.
  16. I haven't seen a sox game in a while. I'm looking forward to seeing this one.
  17. In the most recent issue of ESPN the magazine there was a small box on the second to last page about MB. He grew up in long beach, and they say being closer to home will help him with his temper and attitude. I seriously doubt it though.
  18. Phew. It got tense there in the 9th, but its over now. Great game by schilling, but I have a few problems with Francona's decisions. Why did he take Schilling out in the 7th? I know his pitch count was up there, but Schilling can take a lot of abuse, and he was doing so damn well! And also, wtf, why put foulke in AGAIN in a non-save situation, when he isnt needed. It makes no sense to me. Now they most likely wont be able to use him tomorrow if a save situation arises.
  19. It's happened twice in this game alone, and about 6 times all season for the sox. I get scared whenever I see it, and I highly doubt it speeds up the arrival time. Remy mentioned that when Millar went into the bag the act of diving actually slowed him down, but mentioned it was a reflex and that it was tough to correct. What do you think of this risky, yet exciting thing?
  20. I dont mind Clark so much as Clemens. I'm glad that Clark is on the yankees actually, considering how much he sucked for us. Hopefully he causes problems for them.

    ootp 6

I have ootp5 and love it. I may be interested in participating in a talksox ootp6 league. That would be awesome. As for the game itself, I'll definitely buy it soon. Gotta get my baseball fix even when games aren't on!
  22. Mussina's all over the place. Walking in, and then hitting in a run. I love it.
  23. Yea, we dont hate our own players for breaking our hearts as much as we hate players who desert us. Thats why we hate clemens so much.
  24. Like RedSoxRooter just pointed out, he's really really overusing the bullpen. He seems to be bringing in an uneccesary amount of pitchers when one or two could and would get the job done nicely.
  25. Here's ESPN's article (http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=240416102): And as a side note, I'm glad that they have a Ted Williams/Jimmy Fund statue outside of the stadium now. It looked nice from what I saw and it's a good gesture.
