  1. or just have him rest and not be hurt at all
  2. I've been watching as well. I dont have a favorite player, I just want to see good matches and I want the Williams sisters to lose finally.
  3. We need a win now or else. We're gonna fall behind the Devil Rays soon unless we start winning. Some things looked like they came together last night despite the loss, so we should be able to eek this one out, right?
  4. Thats actually something that I've never thought about. You're right, I can never think of an instance where any player or fan or team personnel said "Varitek was off of his game tonight, so we lost the game". It's always someone else's fault. So, by highlighting the good and the good only..... is Tek overrated? And sentimental rambles are ok by me.
  5. Do you go to pawsox games ever? Welcome.
  6. So, you're saying that maybe facing the yankees will give the team the infusion of energy that they so desperately need? Interesting. I probably agree with you too. We looked so on top of things when we played the yankees early on in the season, maybe because of the energy facing rivals gets going in players. Hopefully thing'll pick up, I'm actually looking forward to the yankees series. Hehe, how often do you WANT your team to play the yankees?
  7. He's now 6 behind, and slipping...
  8. Haha, not many responses in this thread.... Those day games will do it for ya I guess. Anyway, it was horrible. I was buying something at circuit city, I looked at my cell phone and saw the score was 2-1, then looked at a TV a few minutes later and saw the score at 7-1.
  9. Nomar will help the team 10x more than he will hurt it. It's a fact. An error here or there and a popup once in a while doesnt complete negate the great hitting that he has had so far (considering he's coming off of an injury). And about this "sinking feeling". I certainly know what you mean. We routed the phillies two days ago, and then we go and get destroyed. Consistency is not our strong point I guess.
  10. From what I saw before he went down with injury, Mueller winning the batting title last year seems like it was a fluke. Sure, he's a decent player, and he plays o.k 3b, but Youkilis might be on par with him right now, with the potential to surpass him at any second. Here are Mueller's stats from this year so far offensively: 2004 BOS 36 145 23 38 7 0 5 21 15 21 0 1 .262 .333 .414 .747 Not too great. Youkilis: Career 29 103 21 28 7 0 3 14 15 22 0 1 .272 .372 .427 .799 about the same, but in about 40 fewer at bats. If a guy who probably should be in AAA right now is outhitting your day to day 3b, something is probably not going well with your day to day 3b. If Mueller comes back, and Tito desperately wants him to play, I guess you do have to send Youk back down, so he can play everyday as JM mentioned and continue to hone his skills. It's better than riding the bench, and he'd understand that its for the best. It'll be interesting to see how things play out I guess.
  11. Why not? I'll see if I can get some people to join up...
  12. Wait, so what is really happening? Is he missing next tuesday or not? And BDD.com, although at times a source of good information, can be extremely misleading in its attempt to be the first to break a story.
  13. Well, aren't MA and CA the two most liberal states in the country? I know that MA is at times considered racist, not in the "sit in the back of the bus" sense, but in the segregated, not willing to accept black people sense. The Red Sox especially have a history of racism, being the last integrated team in the majors with Pumpsy Green in 1954 (I think that was the date). Jackie Robinson was looked at by scouts, as yeszir said, in the mid '40s, and WE PASSED ON HIM. I see where Barry is coming from, but Boston is getting better. He didn't need to bring this up.
  14. It's a stupid thing for the Red Sox to do, and Theo will realize this if he hasn't already. Sure, some retarded fans will cry foul, especially if he goes to the MFY, but it really is in the best interests of the sox. We have a championship calibre team now, we don't need to deplete our farm system entirely to win. I've never been a fan of trading away your future for a few months of an established player (Freddy Sanchez?). This deal, if it were to happen, would piss me off immensly.
  15. Hehe, they'll be down for a while, and we'll be up for a while. Hopefully.
