  1. Slow Sunday I guess. There wasn't too much action here during the game.
  2. future yankee, lol. Too true. But yea, it sucks that we're losing now.
  3. You shelled out 400 dollars for a table?! Or are you standing? Either way, be sure to tell us how the view is. Maybe take a picture or two?
  4. Yup. Everything will be much much clearer in July, when the numbers are about right and everyone settles into a grove. Then we can see exactly what this team needs (the presence of Trot and Nomar won't hurt either). And I dont think anyone is arguing that Lowe is more valuable/worth it than Pedro is, I think people are just pissed off about his attitude. I'd rather have attitude and a 2.5 ERA than no attitude and a 4.0 ERA. But maybe that's just me.
  5. About the Cy Young thing, I dont really see that much competition from other pitchers in the AL other than Schilling really. As you said, if he can stay off of the DL and can get over the 200 ip hump, he has a great shot at it. Even though he doesn't have his old velocity, he has shown flashes of his former self (like in his last start), so if he can shake whatever ails him, he'll be even better than we expect.
  6. Haha, ok, I trust your sox fandomness now.
  7. I noticed it, but I didnt want to say anything for fear of making you all feel puny for not having great eyesight like mine and Ted's.
  8. Yes, leave forever and never come back. THat's a shameful and inexcuseable mistake.
  9. Lost in all the Poker Hysteria and outpouring of runs is Schilling's top notch performance so far. 7.2 IP, 1 ER, 4 hits, 7 K's and he's just hit the 100 pitch mark. Pretty damn good if you ask me.
  10. I said it wouldnt be a possibility because of a couple of factors. The most obvious being that there aren't many good second baseman available. The ones that are good would take an arm and a leg to get, and I wouldn't want to deplete the minors to get a guy like Soriano. Plus, there's the cost factor. Salary. The sox need money for this offseason, so taking on any remotely large contract could mean the difference between resigning Pedro or not resigning him, or Tek or Nomar or Lowe (he's gone no matter what, but thats another story). Now that I think about it, Reese is fine. No need for a second baseman. Just more depth off of the bench I guess.
  11. This isnt answering your question, but I voted for Ortiz as well. My question is: what is in your avatar? Is that Pesky? Who is behind him?
  12. Haha, Juan probably blew the game last night with his non-hustle when throwing in tek's hit, and he just lets that one go by him. Pokey Reese is the least likely candidate for a 2 hr game. You think he can hit three?
  13. Varitek the speedster gets a stolen base. Kapler should have had that hit, but that was a damn nice play by the 3b. I was impressed.
  14. I'm pretty sure all of the Beatles songs were about the sox. Anyway, welcome to the site.
  15. Either a second baseman (although I dont see how getting one would be possible) or a good utility guy off of the bench who can hit decently.
  16. I came up with it all by myself.
  17. It's schilling vs Gobble after last night's thrilling victory. Hopefully we'll get a game that isnt as ulcer-inducing as before. I'll actually get to watch this one too, so that's a plus.
  18. I think he meant "Bellhorn isn't a bad player". Just a guess though.
  19. Crespo by far. Bellhorn has OBP on his side, Crespo has nothing. He's a less good Jose Offerman.
  20. I was out, didnt catch any of the game. I just turned on NESN for the replays though, looks like it was some exciting stuff.
  21. Ew. What the hell. If someone tell so you when you are young, "piss on your hands, it makes them more resistant to callousing", what kind of moron actually follows the advice? What little respect I had for this self-pisser is now gone. I bet he wets his bet so he doesn't have to wear a cup.
  22. I don't think he was a good enough player to have an entire foul pole dedicated to him with his number on it and everything. Maybe on "Johnny Pesky" day, but not as a permanent thing.
