  1. First off, for yagmaster: When these two come back, I'd rather see Pokey at second. Think about it, do we really need that little bit of offense gained by having Bellhorn over Reese. We'll have both Trot AND nomar back, and our offense is starting to turn things around. I'd rather have Pokey's glove out there to turn those double plays than Bellhorn's frequent walks. And, ACL Bosox, as for their returns heres what I know: Trot's been facing live pitching and says he feels fine. He should return soon. Im not sure about the exact date, but itll be soon enough. And nomar is worse off. I've heard as late as mid june for his return, but I'm hoping sooner. Much sooner.
  2. It's Arroyo against Drese in texas today at 8:05 (time difference). I believe Manny is a texas killer, and although texas is a far more formidable foe than tampa bay, in my optimism I believe we could get yet another sweep. Oh, how sweet that would be.
  3. Ouch. Cubs beating the sox to win the world series would hurt bad. VERY bad.
  4. It's still 7-2 after 4. It looks as if the sox are on their way to 6 wins in a row. Our offense picked up (but only in the first, its been quiet since then) and pitching looks good, even if they did give up a run.
  5. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/allnews/tm_ob...-name_page.html I guess its for the "official" type of baseball hat, because they definitely existed before 1954. But its baseball related, so you know I had to post it.
  6. Nice, that would be the club record? That would be amazing. Lowe has the potential for 0 run ball, and our bullpen can certainly continue the dominance. It would be amazing to see (again). A sweep of the devil rays right after a sweep of the yankees. Woohoo! Come on Sox!
  7. After the 4-0 win against TB in which BK got the win, the sox and drays face off for part two of the double header. It's Lowe against Moss. Are the sox so hot that they can win two in one day?
  8. I'm simply amazed by our pitching staff. Everyone is stepping it up and pitching phenomenally. I mean, Bronson pitched well and was the last pitcher to give up a run! Amazing. And as roary pointed out, its a good think too, since our hitting hasn't been great so far.
  9. Oh, wow. Nice. Not being a big basketball fan, I don't know much about him. But leading the magic to a 1-10 start, and being the '00 coach of the year send me two very different signals.
  10. ACL BoSox, welcome to the site. I guess your worries were assuaged though. He pitched well. Just to keep things tidy, I'm merging this with the other ongoing Byung Hyung Kim post. So thats where it went, dont worry.
  11. Yup, no thread was made, thanks for starting one. These early games kill us because we're all so busy during the day. From what I see, Kim pitched extremely well. Gotta be happy with that. I was following along on my cell phone. The score is now 4-0 in the 8th
  12. Haha, send this to 8 people within the next 10 seconds or else you will be cursed for eternity and the yankees will win the world series.
  13. Yay, 6-0! Schilling gets his third win. Good game, good game. Now we need 2 more for another sweep.
  14. Good, they just brought in the 24 2/3 scoreless crew. We didnt want another Grady-esque thing happening.
  15. Reading that as the first paragraph made me kind of uneasy.
  16. Whoa, what are the odds of that. To take in a game at Wrigley would be awesome. But I still like fenway more.
  17. I've been out for the past 2 hours, and I just got back to see the game. I'm glad to see that curt's been pitching well, 7ips 0 er 5h 8k's! Impressive stuff, even if it is against the Devil Rays. But I'm a little worried about our offense. Only 2 runs in 7 innings from what should have been one of the highest scoring teams in baseball at this point? Come on guys, you arent facing the greatest pitching staff in the world here. I think this may give us some trouble in the future unless we turn it around. 'Course, trot and nomar coming back would help as well.
  18. Damn, you beat me to starting the thread. Anyway. Finally, the long awaited first meeting between the sox and drays. I don't think Pokey will be playing do to a fever that he had (over 100 degree fever yesterday, he wouldn't have played then anyway). It should be sufficiently fun to watch though. Hopefully nothing goes wrong.
  19. Wow. Welcome to the site, first and foremost Coach Wile. It is truly a pleasure to have you here. I am glad that you find the site and that you enjoy it so far. And although I feel for you since you have never seen the sox play live, I am extremely happy that you will finally get your chance. (more than one I see!). Red Sox fans really come from all around the country (and the globe too!), I think more so than for any other team. Once again, welcome to the site. I look forward to having discussions with you. But as for your wife, you need to convert her to Red Sox fandom!
  20. Its funny though, that the "some pitching" that Shea was traded for has really turned out to not be helpful. What more, we haven't been hurt by it in the least!
  21. Wow, awesome! How'd you manage to get tickets to the premiere?
  22. So the movie premiered already, and it was supposedly ok, but the sox still lose in the ALCS. Is anyone going to go see it? I plan on it. Not because I don't know what happens, but because I want to see the team in the clubhouse. I want to see Millar and Pedro joking around, and I want to see genuine Red Sox fans' reactions to games over the course of the season. It should be interesting, if not sad, to watch.
  23. As great as it is to see, you know the yankees won't be down at 14 for long. And I highly doubt that the sox will be up at number one. I can sure hope for it, but, being realistic, you know it wont happen. I'm also glad that they recognized how much the Giants suck. People forget that there's even a team called the Giants anymore, its all Barry Bonds team now.
  24. So, odds on this game being called off anyone? I say 3:1. The field looks soaked.
