The more I read about these four and some others, the more I like about this draft. I had some doubts, at the time.

Same here.  I've liked Breslow's previous drafts, but this seemed a bit meh.  But the dollars are starting to make sense.  FWIW, ESPN had those three guys ranked #51, #57, and #80.  If this was FB, that trade-off would be profitable.

I’m loving what they did in this draft. 
 

you can’t go by pipelines rankings.  That’s one list, BA, PG, ESPN, MLB all have vastly different boards.  After the top 15-25 picks those boards start to vary greatly.

then every team has different boards too.  One team

could be ranking a guy top 40 while another team might not have them at all. 
 

Sox took the 8th lowest bonus and stretched that money out to get a lot more bang for their buck and sign a lot of guys providing the system with ceiling.  And they pivoted back to hitting after improving the systems pitching.  
 

of course this all means nothing if no one pans out but at first glance bravo,

I see both Davenport (5th) & Lanman (6th) took a little more than $100K less to help create more bonus money for LaFavor, who got about $650K more.

These guys know what they are doing. There are still 2-3 unsigned, and the soxprospects.com podcast mentioned how the idea was to sign 18-19 out of the 20, so are we at the point, where we cannot sign one or two more w/o serious penalties? I think they mentioned Offing as a "fallback," in case we did not sign a previous "overslot" guy.
