Narvaez looking lost with a bat

Called strike 3 with men on 2nd 3rd and no outs is not tolerable

Especially on that pitch.  Some nasty breaking ball that nips the corner by a tenth of an inch maybe.  A fastball where that was no way.

With a chance to win a series and get back to only 8 under , the Sox stick with the programmed rest days for 20+ year olds

Contreras is in his mid 30s.

Rafaela is having a back issue…

I don't believe anyone has accused Narvaez of being a good hitter.

Has anyone graded the Sox base running?

If they’re not going to hit, they do need r to be aggressive on the bases.

But that does mean running into more outs…

Well said.  Every time a runner is thrown out does not mean it was a baserunning mistake.  Sometimes the other team makes a play.  On that one, if Ramirez throws it anywhere else, Abreu is safe.

Like an F to Abreu for standing and watching his hit and then getting thrown out at 2B?

To answer your question, fangraphs has us 5th in their baserunning index.

When Crochet returns, I would think Suarez would be the #5 starter. Fortunately, Breslow only gave him a 5 year contract.

And maybe Tolle takes the #2 slot away from Gray?

Thanks, but I'm shocked they're ranked that high

Nice play by Mayer.

Glad he did not wreck a knee on that tarp

Is Suarez beginning to look like the guy who showed up post WBC ?

Sox were not looking for a 5 inning effort   so they go to mid-relief BP

Where would you put Suarez?

Not based on 2026 only...

1. Crochet

2. Gray

3. Suarez

4. Tolle

5. Early

2-3-4 are very close to each other. If Early can stop walking so many batters, he'd be closer to 2-3-4.

Wong who can run doesn't get to 3B on a single to RF.

I know, if he got thrown out it would be huge mistake.

When Duran homers again, it won't matter

Just a flyball, Mickey

MF swung at trash  and took third strike

He is who he is

More understandable than the Narvaez one earlier.  I’ll be consistent with my earlier comment on Narvaez.  At least with Gasper, it was breaking pitch they ticked the corner, not a fastball that got plenty of plate.

I'll give Mickey full credit for playing well above his talent level and contributing. He realistically is a super utility guy since he can catch too

I posted this right after Cleveland lost their last challenge. It feels good to be right, especially when it's so rare.

Worst balls and strikes umpiring I've seen this season.

Otoh, thanks chUMP. You won the game for us.
