KC 0-5 with 4 K’S, and getting worse as the season goes on. 3-30 in June with 12 K’S, and down to .218 on the season after going 12-64 with 29 K’S in May. He looks like a lost cause at the moment, and looks like the Red Sox have, and had a hand in that.🤔

Devin Futrell might be the sleeper pick on the farm.

soxprospects.com has him at #58.

While Gage Ziehl dropped from 28 to 39, I think he might rebound.

The rebound trio could be Cespedes (34>14) Jo Garcia (51>34) and YRod (55>35.)

Dylan Brown made sp.com's largest leap from 60 to 31, and Primera jumped from 36 to 13, but they are not "rebounding."

Those stats are just SUSPECT. Need to see what he can do in MLB before I make a judgement on what he can do as a player.

He’s got to get back there first, and at the moment that seems like a longer distance than it is from WOO to Boston.

The mostly, highly ranked Sox farm is not translating to wins on the farm. Sound familiar?

35-32 WOO AAA (+1 run differential)

32-32 POR AA (-30)

26-36 GRE A+ (-49)

24-40 SAL A- (-40)

16-17 FCL (+1)

7-18 two DSL teams combined

The farm might be the only baseball worth watching.

Cheng (.794) hit his 7th HR and had 3 hits in WOO's 5-4 loss. Romero (.654) & Castro (.605) had 2 hits. Romero walked once.

Turner homered (9th, 2 hits and at .803, now) in POR's 7-6 win. Brannon (,990), Alcantara (.632) and Tucker also has 2 hits. Mullins & Sansone got roughed up.

GRE lost 8-5 as Ingrassia let up 1 run in 3 IP (3H, 3BB, 3K) YRod hit is 11th and is at .794. Heyman (.821) his his 3rd, walked once and had 2 hits. Winnay walked 3 times.

SAL won 10-5 desite 6 BBs in 1.1 IP by Gartrell. The staff walked 12! Opata hit his 4th, while nobody had 2 hits. SAL did walk 8 times, so 5 batters had 1 H and 1 BB.

I watched the taller kid from ole miss, rabe, pitch 3 times in the post season and he is a guy whose pitching reminds me of the kid from tenn. that we took in last year’s draft!!

bres-slow spent 3 early picks last year on sec pitchers. I could see bres-slow being interested in rabe from ole miss or deitz from Arkansas.

Who is the F'd up GM who signed this doofus Primera?

2 HRs today, 3 for 4 and a 1.410 OPS over almost 110 PAs!

How about the DSL Red team? Outhit 14-4, but they won 15-13!!! They drew 17 BBs, including 5 by their leadoff hitter! DSL Blue lost 7-2.

Zeihl pitched well for POR 9Ks and 0 BB in 5 IP (4H and 2 ER) Liendo homered and Taylor has 2 hits. Sea Dogs up 6-2 into the 9th.

Bello is pitching for Woo and is in the 5th (6H, 3 ER, 1BB, 5Ks) Seigler has 2 hits in a 3-3 game.

From sp's.com...

Did Franklin Primera get a hit today? Of course he did. With his three-hit, two-homer effort on Friday, he has a commanding lead in that circuit in all three slash-stat categories. Hitting .464/.589/.821, he holds nearly a .300 point lead in OPS. During his 15-game hitting streak, he is 26 for 50 (.520), with seven home runs and four doubles, good for a 1.020 slugging percentage. He also celebrated his 19th birthday on Tuesday.

Eventually, we may see Arias, Brannan or Garcia to AAA. Maybe a pitcher or two from Eyanson, Mullins, Paez, Holobetz, Wehunt or Rogers.

What about GRE>POR? Cespedes, Winnay, Mason & Hudson White, G Rod? (Not sure 19 y/o Gonzalez will start 2027 in A+. Pitchers: Futrell, Brown or Ingrassia? (Witherspoon?)

SAL>GRE? Opata, A Guzman or Musett? Tygart? Gartrell?

FCL>SAL? 18 yr old Primera? Jorge Rodriguez?

Gonzales homered in GRE's 4-1 win. Cespedes, YRod and IJackson all doubled. Bouchard 5 IP & Hansen 4IP combined to allow just 4 hits and 2 BBs (1 ER w 10 Ks)

SAL lost 9-1 but was only outhit 10-9. The difference was 11 BBs to 6.

Capra homered in WOOs win. Delay had 3 hits. Thaiss, Hickey, Ward & Capra had 2.

POR lost 6-4, but Eyanson went 4 scoreless innings (3H, 1BB, 5K) Arias is heating back up (3-5 w HR) Liendo homered, too.

GRE lost 7-6 as Phillips went 4.1 (7H, 3ER, 1BB, 5K) Gonzales (.780), Cespedes & Jackson (.749) homered, Cespedes went 3-3 (.862)

SAL is playing very badly. They lost 3-0.

I'm sure a lot of these guys will eventually get promotions. I think the Sox are now in the mode that a callup to WOO means you're ready to be sent to BOS at a moments notice. Brian Abraham has said as much a few times. I think that's why they seem to be slower with some of the promotions. You need to make sure that all these moves leave playing time for everyone.

Arias is probably moved sometime around the MiLB ASG. Primera could get called up as nobody is going to stand in his way. I think everyone else is just biding their time and waiting for spots to clear up. Once the FCL season ends and the draft happens, the Sox will make some moves to clear room for guys to move around the org a bit more.

Again, I don't take too much stock in the overall offensive numbers at GRE this year. You can tell how they feel about a player with where they bat him in the lineup. If a guy has a 900 OPS, but is still hitting 8th, they probably have him on a lower tier than the guys they keep putting up at the top of the lineup. They are definitely not going to call someone up just because of how their boxscore looks that's for sure.

Good points, and most of the players on the Woo team do look like ML depth, but I do think a player or two is 2-3 players away from a call-up.

I think we will trade Wong this summer, but we wont call up a catcher, so promoting Jo Garcia to AAA might wait until 2027.

Llyod as the back-up 1Bman probably would never get a call, as others can play 1B. If Romy gets the call when healthy, maybe he adds the depth that makes cutting Lloyd doable. Brannon may be "ready," even without Romy making the roster. There is also room at AAA DH for Brannon or Garcia to get FT play between C/1B and DH.

McDonough or Ferguson could probably be let go, so Arias can get the promotion, but no hurry, I guess.

The AAA OF depth is thin. As you know, I'm no Castro fan, but no AA OF'er looks all that deserving.

Here is how soxprospects.com projects some prospects' placements for 2027. I'll start with the 2026, 2027 and 2028 ETAs to the bigs, knowing full well, only a few will get the call, barring many injuries.

2026: 4. Bennett, 15. E Rivera, 16. Uberstine

Early 2027: 1. Arias, 19. Romero

Mid/Late 2027: 2. Eyanson, 3. Witherspoon, 12. Holobetz, 14. Cespedes, 20. Bastardo, 21. Paez, 22. Mullins, 30. Castro (33. Brannon, 34. Garcia, 51 Rogers)

2028: 6. Godbout, 10. Phillips, 26. Monegro, 27. M White, 28. Finley

Those who do not make the big club will likely be placed in AAA, with a few at AA. Here are their projected opening day 2027 farm rosters:

AAA: SP-Bennett, Eyanson, Uberstine, Wehunt, Holobetz, Anderson/ RP-Samaniego, Rivera, Mullins, Song, Paez, Rogers, Zeihl, Gamboa (? Monegro/ Wu-Yelland?)/ C-Nate Baez, H White (No Garcia)/ 1B Brannon/ 2B B Rodgers, Seigler/ SS Sogard, Ferguson/ 3B Romero/ OF Castro, Ward, Campbell. Turner

AA: Witherspoon, Phillips, Brown, Ingrassia, Futrell, Bouchard/ Sprague, Brooks, Adams, Carlson, Bolden, Vogatasky, McShane, Bickerstaff/ Jo Garcia, GRod/ Encarnacion, RMartinez/ Cespedes, Alcantara/ Godbout/Winnay, CRose/ YRod, IJackson, Gonzales, N GTaylor/ MWhite

Not sure they'd be in a rush to move guys like McDonough or Ferguson since they can fill in all over the field. They need to have guys who can just be bench guys and play wherever is needed on a daily basis. More likely that they'd move Cheng, Capra or Romero to make room for Arias.

Castro's spot is secure through next season. There's just nobody to push him out.
