I think a catcher upgrade is on the Sox radar, but Whats left of Realmuto might not be much of one…

If the Sox have $45mill to spend, there is a 0% chance they spend it all on two players.  Especially if that figure has to include arbitration raises.

I do have my doubts they deal Hicks.  He was the one player from the Devers trade Breslow talked up.  And maybe if no one foolishly tries to make him a stater, he can return to being the decent RP he was on St. Louis, occasionally once again touching 105 mph on the radar gun. (That is not a typo.)

I’m hoping the Sox are not so dumb as to trade a former consensus top 5 prospect and AL Rookie if the Month simply because he struggled for 100 PA…

It's be $57M when they non-tender Lowe.  If they wrap up Campbell in a trade for an SP, they'll have $64M.  That would be more than enough for Alonso + Suarez plus a couple of minor pieces.

1. Hopefully not Suarez.  At that point, pay up for Alonso and a pitcher (R Suarez? Cease? King?) and trade an OF for a 3b or 2b, which is probably easier than dealing one for a pitcher.

I doubt we have a clue on the real budget, however.

2. Hopefully they don’t trade Campbell.  They had enough faith to extend him, but he’s no longer needed after a stretch of 110 bad PA?

After I posted, I realized that I probably should've stipulated that Ranger was my example, not Eugenio.

IRT to Campbell, my concern is on position, not talent.  He's never going to be an OFer or a 2B for us.  And TBH, yeah, slightly concerned about his hitting.  If we can package Campbell + Abreu or Duran, we can acquire some real good pitching, and still not be at all concerned about the OF.
