Brace yourselves for another Red Sox salary dump.

Report here that Red Sox will look to trade away Bregman if they can't negotiate a longer term contract: Red Sox Anticipated to Trade Alex Bregman If 'Sides Can't Work Out Deal'

Oof, Red Sox fans just can't catch a break! 😅

Report here is that out of all rival GMs/execs/employees of other clubs asked, some said they could see the red sox maybe trading bregman if they fall completely out of it.

I aint bracing myself for it, and it would incur my full wrath (deservingly so)

MSN coverage on MLB is 95% clickbait.

A Bregman’s opt out isnt as guaranteed as many think. He would make nearly $83million over the next two years if he stays, which is a lot of guaranteed coin to walk away from.

While Bregman would likely prefer a longer deal, he did struggle to gain many offers this past offseason at age 31.  He’s not likely to see longer (or even as long) offers at age 32.

Even if he does opt out and become a free agent, Boston is still an option…

I fully expect this and would want us to trade Bregman, if we know he's not coming back in '26.

There is also that sli chance we trade him and then re-sign him, this winter, but I think that would be a first.

Is there any reason to keep him for the whole season???
without quality starting pitching, even if we made the playoffs, would that accomplish???

Some lame idea that we will win more games without Devers than with him, and talk that we will be buyers.

To me, if we can't extend Bregman, we should trade him, and if we are trading Bregman, then don't stop there- just go all out and trade all free agents to be plus Duran and if anyone wants DHam, Wong and Grissom, then them, too.

Is Duran blocking Anthony?? Do we really want Anthony to be a DH?

I've said from day one that Duran should DH, so Anthony can play LF vs RHPs and maybe RF vs LHPs. (DH: Duran v R and Ref v l)

If we trade Duran, we are all set in the OF and have the PASSWORD as RHB OF depth.

If we trade Abreu, we no longer need the platoon, as Anthony can play RF FT. Ref can platoon with Yoshida at DH, if he does not retire. Garcia becomes the 4th OF'er, unless we want him playing FT at Woo or give an OF'er a 1Bman's mitt (Duran?)

Since we have big needs in many areas, trading an OF'er is almost a given. (I thought that last winter, too, so who knows?)

We've added Jh Garcia to the mix, and now Campbell looks more like a CF'er than a 2Bman.

I saw Campbell at 2B taking grounders before a game and it was ugly to say the least
