16 strikeouts! My God, how did these guys ever get to the majors?

Is there some reason why they are waving at balls below their knees?

Why do these prima-donners think they can pull an outside pitch? Guess nobody ever told them to just put the bat on the ball - sometimes it falls in - actually, more times than not, it falls in when hit to the opposite field. Yet they keep waving at these pitches. When I was playing, we choked up on the bat and hit it wherever it was pitched.

When are we going to hire a bating instructor? This is embarrassing.

The Red Sox are seventh in baseball in OPS. They're not exactly the Pirates out there.

May: 9th in wRC+

Last two weeks: 18th (better than NYM, TEX, SEA, CLE)

Last week: 19th

Last three games: 23rd (better than LAD, ATL, SDP)

Probably just a temporary slump and there is hope on the horizon.

Ebbs and flow of baseball, I think. The Sox lineup is too talented to be legitimately bad for long.

Sox are 5th in k% for the season and 3rd for May. It doesn't make for a fun watch at times, but they are 6th in runs scored (17th May).

So far this season the Red Sox have matched last year's wRC+ of 104.

Their strikeout rate has dropped from 25.4 percent in 2024 to 23.6 percent this season.

Helps that they got rid of Dalbec, O'Neill and others. Casas being out could reduce that k rate too.

I agree, but boy are they frustrating when they're going through periods like this.  Especially when we get good pitching.

Toro and Sogard might strike out less than Casas, but that still doesn’t make them upgrades…

I didn't say it was an improvement to anything but the k rate. 🫠
