Lots of predictions have the Red Sox as AL Pennant winners, but none of them have us winning it all. Honestly, I think we are a year away from competing with the Dodgers, Braves, or Phillies, but you never know what could happen in a 7 game series.

Having most of the toughest teams in the NL helps our chances.

1. We have better odds to make the playoffs.

2. We should have any easier path through the playoffs to get to the big dance than the NL teams.

3. We all know how we do, once we get to the dance.

We are in a weak AL so there's a solid chance we can get to the WS and then anything can happen.

Then again, we could have two painful injuries this year and we'd be in trouble. Such is life.

Sure. The AL seems to be down this year. If they can get into the WS and their rotation is still cooking (Crochet, Houck, Buehler, Bello, Fitts or acquisition), I think there's a chance. They'd still be the underdogs against the Dodgers, Braves and some other NL teams.

Mind you if the Dodgers get there again and their rotation is mostly healthy, they will be "prohibitive" favorites.  Big if there of course.

I'm starting to get a sense that Sox fans are feeling cocky again all of a sudden. 😉

We do look pretty good, on paper, but most of us know, the games are won on the field.

I'd rather have our roster than any other AL team, right now, and that's not even counting the farm.
