TBD is Fitts.

Up from Worcester where his ERA is 4.17 in 23 starts.

Last night the Sox needed 7 runs, which is likely again today.  Cora going with 6 lefty and 3 righty bats and no Rafaela.

Kyle Hudson . 3B coach, needs help from Gambler's Anon.  Not his first bad call with Duran running.   Then Abreu decides to run with 2 outs.  Brain dead

Horrendous baserunning by home team in the 1st.  Duran waved home when he didn't have a chance.  Then Abreu tries to steal 3b when he too did not have a chance.

Casas comes off IL with some hitting but quickly reverts into the slump mode.   Was there really any question that it would be a slow rebuild .  He makes me miss Dom Smith

Effective on 9/5 D. Smith elected to be a FA after being DFA'd by the Reds.

Maybe  Sox try to bring him to Ft. Myers in February

We're in the 4th and so far the Sox hitting stinks, period.  Baserunning also stinks, which actually means the baserunning had been stupid.  Dummies include the 3d base coach, Abreu, and Story.

Defense looks pretty good, especially the starter Fitts, 4 IP, 0 ER, 0 BB,  Another nice double play, Fitts to Story to Casas.

Well, it is a day game aftera night game after 5 months of warmups, so don't expect much.  Feel bad fore the poor teams that have to play into October.

Fitts  has pitched well enough to be a consideration for regular work.   He has let 4 leadoff runners reach base but worked around them.   Chicago is not the greatest measuring stick for a pitcher but it is the MLB, not AAA

Story got a decent jump.  That White Sox catcher combines a strong arm and a quick release.  He’s really good in that aspect of the game;  Red Sox have now seen that up close.  That should stop the running game for today.

There's a very thin red line between the White Sox and Triple A.

Wong gone. The best thing Wong does as a catcher is hit. Not a bad thing.

You think?  The rest of the team absolutely stinks at the plate and on the basepaths, so the game is tied without his dinger.  Plus his catching doesn't seem to have hurt Fitts' first ever MLB start, now 5 IP with 0 runs scored.

If a team with RISP can't hit FB's nor Change ups , what's left.  Flexen isn't throwing many breaking balls.

No matter what anyone says about Story, the SSS is  the counter argumnet

You’ve heard of the announcer’s jinx.  We’re blaming you for your poster’s jinx😉
