“Epic comeback starts right now”

“They have to start getting hot”

What a load of crap. When are the broadcasters going just state the obvious?

Whenever I see a grand slam, I’m always reminded that Jim Palmer allowed 303 homers in his 19 year major league career.  That covered 558 appearances and nearly 4000 innings.  He allowed exactly 0 grand slams.

He did allow 1 in the minors to some slug named Bench.

The Sox were due for an iffy start from the rotation. But in truth, the pen is so bad that they are unable to handle any number of innings. As soon as one of the middle relievers come in bombs start to go off.

I still can’t believe that “full throttle” comment-after which they added Sims and Garcia. It was crystal clear that they should have been sellers at the deadline and gotten rid of TO and Kenley.

What’s the NBA?

Bruins start on 10/8 though.

That’s the one sport I never could get into. I just find hockey extremely boring. I attend more Wizards games per year than Caps and I get both free.

I was thinking Casas could be the clubhouse leader, but one would have to have a major in Bill Waltonese to understand what he is saying.

Not that it would change results on the field daily, but consider the Sox from about 2003 on through 2018.  There were some Sox lifers on most all of those teams, some won the WS, some finished last but there was a veteran presence.   Look down the lineup and other than Devers , who has been around for awhile ?

The mental toughness to get through a 162 game season is new to many of these young guys.   I don't count Yoshida as a Sox veteran  plus there is a language barrier.  Rich Hill just arrived and it's a joke by Breslow anyway.    Maybe Mickey Gaspar can shake the bat rack for them.

I wouldn’t go see those teams for free either. At least the Caps had a good run for a while.

I don’t blame you. It’s been a long time since the Wizards were good. In fact I don’t remember them ever winning a ring. They traded away Bradley Beale for, essentially, a bag of golf balls.
You still have to appreciate the historic season the Celtics had last year if you’re a fan of the game. I think that they set an all time record for offensive efficiency.

They have given away more NBA stars/good players for nothing than almost any team In the league. Absolutely terrible franchise to root for and I’m just kind of over even trying to be positive. They also just can’t get any luck whatsoever. I knew the team was cursed when John Wall tore his ACL, was rehabbing and helping his mom with cancer and then tore his achilies in his own house from randomly slipping.

I honestly only really go to watch other teams players play. I watched nuggets just for Jokic, Cavs for Mitchell, Spurs for Wemby, stuff like that lol.

I think Wall and Beale were on the team at the same time. As I recall that’s all they had though. They were good but they needed more.

Houck shows there's nothing to  starting pitching like  being ready for the first inning  . He shuts the Mets off in the 2nd.  Good job, son

How do you get free tickets?

How much do you want to bet that they’ll lose the series to the WS?

It's likely at this point.   White Sox are up 6-1 on Baltimore tonight

They were and they were a really good duo. They never did anything to build around them thought. They once spent $200 million in an off season on Otto Porter, Ian Mahinmi, Andrew Nicholson and Jason smith. They’re not very smart

I work restaurant industry and a lot of the liquor reps give us free tickets in exchange for carrying certain items. The Wizards, Nats, Caps and Orioles tickets are usually not very sought after so I usually take the baseball ones and go with my girlfriend or a friend whose a fan of the opposing team.

Games are always different when the bottom of the lineup contributes.  Valdez, Sogard and Duran start it, with Devers and Abreu actually delivering the mail this time.  4-3.   Winnable game if Houck can stay on track

Im not going to miss O’Neill

Definitely not .  But Breslow had the same  dilemma at the  trade deadline.   Could they keep winning, absolutely need a RH bat with power potential.    By mid- August the tide had started shifting but too late.

The Caps were really good for several years. Can’t remember the name of their goalie but he had the B’s number.
Anyway-back to baseball

Yeah

They needed a RH bat who could hit and got Jansen instead, a career .222 hitter.

Full throttle, right?

One of the odd things about Sox starters and 1st innings is watching their pregame prep and warmup.  It is actually very extensive under the direct eye of Bailey.   If anything , they may be tired going out for the first.
