Abreu, Yoshida, and Hamilton do not start today.

Consider sitting down Smith.

That's my guess. With Wilyer, he had a 788 OPS against LHP in AAA last season so he's not completely inept against LHP. He only has 33 PA's so far (5 GS).

OK, that sounds like a decent lineup.

I believe Abreu needs coaching. He tends to swing for the fences or tries to pull the ball way too much.

He seems to have a good eye at the plate and is often the victim of borderline balls that are called strikes.

He needs to be a contact hitter too.

He's also only played 94 MLB games so I think he's still learning a lot.

He's almost 3 years younger than Duran.

Yoshida is the DH as usual. Cora hasn’t played Abreu pretty much all year against a LHP, so I don’t see that happening the rest of the year unless injuries pop up, and especially when he’s been struggling like he is now.

I thought that could happen, not only because Abreu struggles against lefties, but also because Yoshida has been hitting better in the last 12 games.

So tonight it's--

Duran CF

Ref LF

O'Neill RF

Devers 3b

Wong C

Gonzalez 1b

Yoshida DH

Westbrook 2b

Rafaela SS

Here's hoping SPLENDIDSPLINTER joins us tonight. I was pretty argumentative--as well as longwinded and repetitive as I usually am-- last night and regret it.

Max, ya made some good points. We just aren't on the same wavelength about Bello. Let's keep your winning steak going.

Nick P looking sharp through 2. Against the A's keep throwing breaking ball strikes and enjoy quick innings. Get 7 pitched and save a BP arm, Nick.

Here's the problem with complimenting Sox players--they quickly turn into pumpkins. Pivetta huffing and puffing to get out of 2 out , bases loaded trouble
