Could have picked up another game the way the orioles and Yankees look early . That was f***ing s***** job by bello.

Bello certainly got no support, Valdez could have made a play and Abreu's throw wound up not mattering due to Vlad and Springer.

 

The problem is he turns this into a another BP game . A really bad move . He simply cannot throw pitches where they need to be. 3 walks and HBP to wrap around the errors.

 

If there was any pitching depth, a 3 week trip to Worcester to work on his pitching would not be a bad idea.

They do not have anybody in the minors ready to contribute as a starter besides Richard Fitts, Maybe!

Defense was horrible behind him but Bello did not show any guts or composure to overcome it. He has to be tougher and make better pitches.

Well, the SOX do have great OF depth. Probably the most OF depth in MLB.

It’s not really about this year. This is another last place team. If we want Bello to contribute in a couple of years when (hopefully) the team is relevant again he needs to get demoted so he can get his act together against inferior hitters.

A team could have very good hitting, excellent speed, a very good defensive OF, and an above average BP. However, none of those 4 things can make up for a bad defensive infield and inconsistent starting pitching. Missing Story(again), Casas and Gio contributes heavily to those two SOX weaknesses.

I noticed Hamilton in the dugout pregame wearing a set of sports glasses which I have not previously seen. Is that new, does he need them for hitting ?
