I guess that explains why Ref isn't playing tonight.

Ref on the bench vs a RHPs is one thing, but to me, vs a LHP, this is criminal. At least put Rafaela at SS and Ref in the OF, if you insist on playing Yoshida.

Okay, I'm done ranting on Yoshi over Ref v LHPs.

I wonder if having Masa DH aren't orders from the FO.

Saw an interesting video yesterday on how the box on tv is inaccurate. Side to side was fine, since it’s two fixed points. Up and down is terrible, especially on the upper part, because the zone is batter dependent but they never adjust it on television.

If they go roboump, the will need the computer reading the pitch to have a customized "box" for each hitter, his stance . You are correct that the side to sides are fixed lines. So is it a strike as long as any part of the ball nicks the lines ?

Most of the best hitters in MLB don't bat .900 every week.

Really don't get that response. The comment was pointed at the fact that Devers is currently slumping and tonight extends that fact.

You are welcome to be a Raffy fan and that's fine. But to me he is an ugly face of the franchise.

Definitely agree with you on this one. I can only guess that the FO is trying to get Yoshi back in gear in the very remote chance they can shop him out of Boston. It really shouldn't be contract related, either he contributes or doesn't, but no sense in locking him in place at the expense of better hitters

I'd heard that in the Triple A, where robo chUMPS are being used, starting on June 25th challenges on balls and strikes will be implemented.

There will be a certain number of challenges a manager can make.

Boy do you have that wrong. The rectangle is perfect in every way because everyone says so. And the homeplate umpires are all blind and stupid.

Btw, the last time the SOX led the AL in stolen bases was 1935. I seem to get more info about the SOX from watching the SOX on the opposing team's feed.

OB and Youk had the same stat tonight.

Crawford gets a quality start and, as of now, a loss.

Way too many lefties in the starting lineup, especially when Cora has recently been loading up lefties against righty starters and righty batters against lefty starters. Why go away from a winning tactic?

With yet another soft tapper to 2Bman, let's be honest. Yoshida is now officially a liability. Even his few hits are soft bloops . I guarantee you that sore thumb joint is a significant factor . Look at the number of hitters who are using a rubber protector on that joint.

In his last 7 , Yoshi is .148/392 OPS. 4 for 27 with 1 walk.

Like I posted earlier the Reds are 30-1 when leading after 6. Let's hope this jinxes them.

This would be a bad one to lose on 3 solo HR's.

Looks like the SOX have an albatross. It certainly isn't their first.

Every good player slumps. I'm not sure why every Devers slump or mini-slump needs to be brought up. It's a natural thing for even the best hitters.

As for being the "ugly face," I don't think I'm alone thinking that is a response I "really don't get."

With a .901 OPS, I'd wish we'd have 9 ugly faces.

All 5 runs courtesy of solo HR's. That's kinda strange.

And all early in the game, leading me to think this might be a 13-9 final score.

Cora tried to squeeze a little too much juice out of Kutter's citrus tonight. Should not have been out for 7th .

Booser tries to make one of those glove flips and lets in 2 runs.

"Currently slumping?" How so? In his last 5 games he has 5 hits and 6 rbi's. Not many hits, but 6 rbi's in 5 games are a lot.

Meh. Can’t blame him for the Valdez error that set this whole inning up.
