Devers, I believe, has made 3 outs on 3 swings.

Btw, one rumor I heard today regarding a replacement for Bloom was moving Cora up to the GM position. What I liked about this particular rumor was that it gets Cora out of the manager's position.

Hard to get excited about a mediocre team descending into a flat out bad team.

 

Mediocrity is THE worst. Bad means no expectations and a better draft pick to use for future success.

The teams the Sox have left to play for the most part are at least good enough to still be in the running for the last of the new expanded post season spots. The Sox on the other hand are bottom dwellers. They had their shot to bulk up their record on the teams in the AL that cannot even manage a 400 or better winning record. Now the Sox are stuck playing out the season against teams that are actually at least in the running for the 3 wild card spots.......with......the expected results it would appear.

 

So now I am stuck with recognizing that my own projection made at the start of this season of woe that the Sox would be a 500 team in a sea of crap was very likely........OPTIMISITIC.

They have 6 games against Texas (10-17 in the last 27) and the White Sox (56-91)…

Which they will likely be lucky to play 500 ball against while getting whacked silly by the likes of the O's, Rays and in these remaining Jaya games.

Well. Sale is going today. So there’s that…

 

The guy could throw a perfect game, and I still would not count on him for even 1 IP, next year.

One thing the SOX have going for them is they have a lot of players to trade that, imho, most fans won't miss.

 

you have to find teams dumb enough to take them
