Looks like the stros will end any hope for this team. What a pathetic series .

The season is already over. It’s been over for weeks- ever since the J’s swept us.

I'll be the one to say that Houck first tried to cover the play , then just watched it unfold with no awareness the runner was going. Devers did break actually just in front of the runner , but was in no position to make a play.

Maybe another infielder could have yelled at Houck to cover home.

I'd be more interested knowing who the fielding coach is.

There's no one coach designated for fielding but I know Febles works with the infielders, and Kyle Hudson with OF'ers

Sleepwalking team. Can’t say as I blame them. Once management didn’t provide some help at the deadline the players realized that management had given up on them. It shows.

Verlander just toying with most of the lineup . Welcome to MLB , Abreu. Verdugo continues to wipe out any value he may have in the trade market, but I do bet he is gone this winter.

I give Houck much credit for his comeback from a painful injury and delivers a full 5, maybe into the 6th. Sale and Paxton struggle with that mark.

I can't imagine why Turner would want to come back to Boston next year unless they make some MAJOR roster upgrades. He could probably pick where he wants to go on a winning team that will offer him another year or two on his contract.

I didn't see this post, but I echoed it.

Really odd year... never could figure out if I liked this team or hated it. I guess I always knew we were a .500 team and hoped we'd catch fire at the right time. Just hasn't happened.

That was the time to bust one on Houston but Urias got a little under it, then kneeled in the batter's box for a while.

Wishful thinking on my part

He swung at the first pitch, a hittable fastball not far from the center of the zone, but popped it up.

Sox hitters have more hits than the Astros, but not the right kind and of course not with anyone in scoring position. They are obviously intimidated by 40 year old Verlander.

What did Verdugo do that got him pulled from the game?

The home plate umpire sent him to bed without supper.

The box score says Abreu came in for the bottom of the 4th as a defensive replacement. Did Verdugo get booted while Casas was at bat (and K'd)?

My guess is arguing balls and strikes
