Kike and Kluber; the Special K's.

 

If we had a like button... I would have hit it... good line. I will say to me though Kluber was a let down... Kike is just being used in a manner he should not be. He should be a bench guy filling in as a utility player a couple times a week. Kluber was supposed to be a really good pitcher... he wasn't even mediocre.

Pivetta pitching like he wants to prove his worth back into the starting rotation.... which is really good for the team.

Watching these games most days.... what is our one or two biggest holes to fill next year? For me... it's clearly a 2nd baseman, and secondly a good dependable starting pitcher. I'm hoping / assuming Story is our SS.

 

I'm hoping the kid--20 year old Marcelo Mayer at AA Portland--makes it to Boston next year and becomes our long term SS with Story moving to 2b.

 

With Duran and Dugo in CF and RF--and Duvall, Yoshida, and Refsnyder also available--the outfield looks pretty decent.

 

Sale could be back by August, based on his latest MRI and that he is now throwing every other day. Sale, Paxton, and Bello would be a pretty darn good start on a rotation--if Sale returns to where he was right before the injury to his left shoulder.

Sox pitching this week is a mess. They are already undecided on Tuesday. Bello is going Wednesday. Paxton is up Thursday, but per the radio guys, his wife is due with their second child Tuesday, so who knows when that will happen or if he makes that start. I’d guess Crawford goes Friday and then we’re back to who knows for Saturday and next Sunday.

Well, according to MassLive, Paxton will not pitch in the Texas series. So he’ll be back against the A’s Friday or maybe Saturday.
