Posting this immediately after the Red Sox exceptional win over the Blue Jays in a shutout. Game might be starting too early for us west coasters.

Kutie Kutter Crawford going for Boston ; Yusei Kikuchi serving up sushi for Toronto. Yusei (LH'er)is pretty effective, ( 3.75/1.23 Whip) , as was Barrios before Yoshi and Duran dismantled him.

Get the series win and turn this ship around NOW. But let's see if AC goes to his RH lineup or let's the LH hitters get some practice.

Starts at 3 pm eastern time. I'm fine with Crawford, but worry about the Sox ability to hit a lefty. Refsnyder is in a slump and leading off in LF. Dugo and Devers are hitting 2d and 4th, which could be a problem against a lefty. Turner and Duvall batting 3d and 5th would be OK if Duvall were hitting, which he is not. Yoshida 6th and DH should be OK. But then the bottom of the order--Kike, Arroyo, and Hamilton--is just disheartening.

Duvall hit a couple rockets of lefty Tanner Banks last Sunday. Hoping he can do that again…

It's Canada Day, which I suppose means the start time for the game is completely flexible.

I see. Well hopefully we win on their “Canada day “.

Realistically, what are the chances of a Red Sox first inning run......I'd say more than 10-1. Sox rarely break out early.

I don't see. I agree the game should start whenever Canada, Toronto, and the Jays agree it should start. But I don't understand why the start time needs to be a secret, which it clearly was/is. The scheduled start time was 3:07. It now appears they intended all along to start at 3:30, but just not tell anyone of that intent.

Duran out of the line-up??? Seems crazy after such a great game yesterday. Let the kid try to go on a run.

Lefty starter. I don't like today's lineup with all those useless righty bats.

Cora and mgmt. obviously know better than I... but boy it feels odd bringing potential players up from the minors and never really giving them a shot to be an everyday player. He wont' ever hit lefty's well without getting looks.

Devers gets 4 straight fastballs, 4 seamers, and K's. One, which he swung at and missed, was well above the strike zone. The 3d strike foul tip was pretty much right down the middle. Edited by Maxbialystock

Devers makes the no runs in first bet good. He is his own worst enemy with chasing balls way up above zone.

What would be your over/under on Raffy for the full season, assuming no injuries for HR's ( 19) and rbis(61) . I'd say 35/105 with 79 games to complete

That’s not a good way to start a game.

For sure... but down 1 is ok for a bad start. 8 more innings to get it done. Go Sox.

Like I said, Duvall is in a slump and is definitely hurting the team.

C Hamilton tales 2 pitches most umps would have rung him up. He may go Oh for the season with a few walks, maybe a HBP or two.
